This came up on my custom Google News

https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/melvins_buzz_osborne_talks_to_ug_i_have_never_felt_connected_to_any_music_scene_anywhere_ever.html

Interesting read although covers some standard stuff....once again poor Buzz has to talk about Kurt. Still, I didn't know they recorded Pigs and The Jelvins at the same time.

Thanks!, that's a great interview and the Comments are also fun to read. I'll need to check it out again.

They lost me after ISIS was labeled in parentheses as a (punk band).  uhh, wut?

Never understood labels/genres myself. Especially indie when describing a band or grunge.

That was probably the editors doing their best to distance the band from the Islamic State so they just grabbed a genre real quick.

I enjoyed reading on the origins of Buzzo going aluminum.

I know The Melvins (and obviously Buzz Osborne) are legends, but every time i see an interview or any kind of news, the first thing (if not the only) this guy says is something along the lines of comparing himself to nirvana or pearl jam, that he is better o that he doesn't connect to them.  Please man just stop is obvious that he has certain kind of resentment towards nirvana or pearl jam. The fact that he always mention this topic is just proof of that."

>Did it feel different for you as a guitarist to have two drummers behind you?

"Oh, yeah. It was great. You write songs with that in mind. It was a lot of fun. They're both really good players and Jarred the bass player was a really good singer so it was really, really good. I don't have nothing but fond memories about all of it. We had a great time."

This sounds very Past Tense. I read it to the wife and she agreed the same thing.
Is the Big Melvins Business Era over?
What a fabulous room. Are all these your guitars?

(the) Razor

Good pick-up, I thought that too.

I think from now on they will just have a rotating schedule of bassists. I'd expect them all to come back at one point, Dunn, Jared, Pinkus etc (even Kevin one day). But for now it seems a new trilogy or new series of full albums or so with BB is over.

Well if it's to be true, it was some good fun & good shows. A Senile Animal is one of my top faves all time.

That said.

Please let there be a Melvins Hepa-Titus collaboration. I will pay monies.

Reading between the lines I think BB is over as part of the Melvins on a full-time basis. Maybe not part-time.

Wasn't it reported that the reason they turned to Dunn (and kicked all this rotating business off) because Jared was on maternity leave?

I remember Buzz saying that after the Rutmanis situation they never wanted to be beholden to a bass player again and that's why they're doing the rotating bass players. I don't think he's really ever addressed the BB/Jared situation about why that is no longer the standard version of the Melvins and why it's been 6 years since the last album with them and 4 years since even an EP.

Freak Puke album and tour was in 2012.
Pinkus filled in for Jared in 2013 during his maternity leave.

The interviewer asked about writing I want to tell you with Steve McDonald in mind on bass.

Pretty certain that's a Beatles tune. I like how Buzz gives an answer anyways .
Is Ian back yet??

Never understood labels/genres myself. Especially indie when describing a band or grunge.

I think the biggest confusion on the indie moniker results from it originally describing bands who were not associated with any major record label, thus independent.   When this slowly started morphing into a descriptor of what the band sounded like it began to lose any real meaning.   Now it mostly means "whatever you do don't listen to this".
