I know! As much as i love The White Stripes, i think Jack White being associated with Melvins to the point of being IN the band would be terrible!

Meg White as 2nd drummer???

Some scintillating little tidbits here below in this interview! A fourth Kiss inspired EP?? Kevin Rutmanis maybe? Steve McDonald? Trevor??

Crover: There'll be two new Melvins things, probably, this year.

Osborne: We are working on a new album right now. Almost done. And then we'll take it from there. It's something we've never done before. It has a twist to it that we've never done.

Crover: There's gonna be some reissues of [1992's Kiss-satirizing solo records] coming out too. As well as a surprise fourth one. Remember, there was only three. The solo records, the Kiss parody, we parodied Gene, Peter and Paul – there's one left over! Somebody's gonna do a fourth one. You can probably guess who that person might be.

bUTTHOLEmAN

Most likely McDonald.

What's next for the Melvins?
Crover: There'll be two new Melvins things, probably, this year.
I'm also working on a solo record that I've been planning for a while. It's gonna be on Joyful Noise.

Osborne: We are working on a new album right now. Almost done.

The initial five live dates for [Crystal Fairy] got cancelled. Are there new Crystal Fairy tour dates being booked?
Crover: Working on it. Trying to work on redoing everything.

I'm all for the Melvins putting out a solo album of stuff with Steven singing everything, but it should have Dale and Buzz on it, maybe his brother, but not with mercenaries who have nothing to do with the Melvins. It isn't 1992 any more. What's the point?

yeah, i think so.  not a big fan of doing a fourth record..that project was pefect with just those three albums. but i guess Buzz and Dale might be involved with Steven's eventually

i'm hoping for one of those three.

just from reading the interview, I was wondering if it could also be Teri? ...Buzz and Dale are such fans of her....

If it all works out it will a surprise for most of you, and a let down for others.  Half of it is for sure something they have not done. And I no one has guessed it yet.

I think that is how these things tend to work out regardless.

I always find it a bit funny how the band (and Buzz in particular) often make such a point about this. The fact that the latest thing they are involved with is something completely new and uncharted for them, however then we hear it and it sounds basically like Melvins again. Although i understand if the process is different for the band themselves.
