Love the goofiness. In fact that's one of the main reasons I'm so much into the Melvins in the first place. Without the sense of humor they would not be the same band.

I just watched the 3 videos with the highest quality that I can get here at home. Steve sounds great, Dale sounds killer but Buzz needed more volume or maybe more bass in his tone.

Yea, I agree, wonder if it's from playing in such a small space. Or maybe Buzz has forgotten how to play a real guitar (oh snap!).

mmmh.i think Steven is such a good bassist and he adds a lot to the band's groove

also to me Buzz guitar sound seems almost better than with his normal live setup

Rewatched the vids, I think the guitar tone is good, it's a volume issue (soundman had one too many Lagunitas perhaps?). The real deal here is how well Dale can play a (to him at least) toy drum set. Like my name implies, the dude's a god!

Did you guys notice (in 'Onions..' i think) where Buzz had to momentarily hold the cymbal for Dale because it almost fell after being hit so much? Dependable stage hand Buzzo!

I agree Buzz did have too little bass/volume on his guitar in the mix, but I think in some aspects that guitar sounded superior to the ECG (sorry EGC fans ). I didn't mind the ECG for a while, but Buzz used to use different guitars far more often, and personally I would be glad if now was the time for another change.

After watching some other bands that have done Jam In The Van, it's clear that the drum set is in house(or van if you will), but the other players bring their own gear. Maybe Buzz has returned to Gibson.
