It's very 90s/grunge with a hint of pop to it. That said I dig it though I liked Christ Hammer as well.

I'm more curious to hear something from the "Love" disc at this point.

Is it too much to ask that the guys do some downtuned shit-kicking slow shit again? I mean---they can do anything they want of course. But this stretch since Hold It In has been ZzzzzzZZZzzzzzzZZZzzzzz....

I guess at the veast they aren't repeating themselves, they're just going through a classic rock phase the last few years. Lynch and Ridley Scott went back to their roots 20/30 years later, maybe melvs might do this one day.
Don't click this

POOP GRENADE

I am diggin' in to Christ Hammer... a good song to drive around to.

The main riff and vocal feels like Clutch, but better.

Decay of lying not slow and low enough for you?

Stonergrunge

Basses Loaded has a lot of good heavy songs. I'm waiting for the official streaming to see if I order it or not.

Slightly better than Christ Hammer, has a more happy vibe than usual Melvins stuff.

maybe some steven influence.   remember... Red Kross is some hippy ass peace and love stuff.

PS:    where's the grit?    I know melvins can sing.  I know melvins can harmonize.  I know melvins can write songs.  I know melvins can play and play well.  I would politely ask for a little more ear torture.

"Speaking about processed sounds, the "Love" disc of the upcoming Melvins record, A Walk With Love and Death, is the first noise release you guys have done in 15 years.

Yeah, one disc is all songs, as much as you can call them songs, and the second one is definitely way more experimental. Like a soundtrack, which'll have a movie that goes along with the soundtrack rather than a soundtrack that goes along with the movie."

both new tracks go really well with my ears. i like the poppy 60ies/70ies psychedelic touch (thanks steven!).
i can understand those of you who are a bit unhappy, these 2 songs are very far away from the ear-torturing melvins... thank god lysol is always closely reachable in all our recordracks.

I'm loving these new songs. But even my 7 year old said this doesn't sound like Melvins
I got the shits real bad.
