I bought the fanzine. It showed up at the house and the woman's hand writing caught my wife's attention. Wife opened it. ShitKid personalized the zine by calling me her "Toyboy".

I had some explaining to do, which really, my wife did not believe, not knowing who these "young girls" are.

Oh, dear. Fast-forward... the other night I was listening to records and I come across the zine. So I decided to read it.

I open the first page and it says: To Brian. My Boytoy.

followed by an ineligible signature.

So later that day, I was like, Brian!?! What the fuck is this? You have some splaining to do!

I figured it was a joke but I popped over just to see if anyone else got the handwritten note. Same thing, huh. Pretty funny, actually.

I thought the artwork was pretty tacky and didn't fit the aesthetic, but I do feel it was blown way out of proportion. I can't imagine buzz not compensating another band for their work. I'm not buying that.

Of all the AmRep Melvins cheapy CD/one-off collabs, this one has to be the worst. I think I've listened to it twice? Like the great Neil Hamburger once said - "Hey, they can't all be zingers!"

I didnt buy it but I did see some excerpts that were posted here a few years ago. Looks about like what I expected. Woke feminists trying to overcome Buzz's boomer reductivism.

There was some Album cover artwork involved as well that was the initial cause of the whole text message thing, can't remember what it even looked like now.

It was a pretty bratty thing to do with their text messages. Help me understand.

The girls (or main girl Asa?) were unhappy about the front cover of a semi-nude woman or something, I think it was drawn by Mackie. They wanted it changed but Buzz refused so they cracked the shits, protested it and then disowned the release.

You can argue whatever but IMO Buzz should've relented but he didn't, he never does which is why he has so many falling outs. As the older person, supposedly more mature person, he just should've let the young women have their way.

Anyway soon after that the other girl quit the band so Asa, I think her name is, ended Shitkid, which was originally a solo project anyway and quit music. After 4-5 years away I think she started making music again 1-2 years ago under a new name.

Because it's just some mickey mouse 7" single, Melvins have released shitloads of those. Who cares about changing the cover to appease the other artist. They're young women from Sweden a very left-wing country and as we all know young chicks will die in a ditch over anything. Buzz, old enough to be their father just should've relented, but he didn't, he never does and that's why his career has panned out the way it has. I say that as a Melvins fan but he's always been his own worst enemy.

Where are they today exactly? Anyway I'm not interested in having an argument over it but he's burnt numerous bridges and even his wife told him not to fuck up the last olive branch Grohl offered but he couldn't help himself and did it again. Just because he never wants to be seen as bending the knee to someone higher up the food chain than him. NIN, White Zombie even Patton himself at one point. He can't help himself he reminds me a lot of my father both text book examples of cutting their nose off to spite their face.
