Ranking the 1983 albums

Rank the Melvins 1983 albums! The past couple of weeks i've been thinking which one i like most and i think i'd have them in the order they have come out. I don't dislike Thunderball though, there isn't much between them all. I'd give all three of them a solid 8/10.

1. Tres Cabrones
2. Working With God
3. Thunderball

What say you? Agree? Disagree? How would you place them?

Tres still has the most memorable songs. "I Told You I Was Crazy" and "Dogs and Cattle Prods" alone make it essential Melvins.

Working with God is good but it just doesn't pull me back. Maybe that's the association with the COVID shutdown.

Thunderball just has that sonic element of weirdness in a pretty fluid way across the whole album. That's why I ranked it second. WWG might even have better songs, but it's the novelty stuff that sticks out more when I remember it.

I agree. I think WWG is pretty strong, but a couple of those silly tracks pull it down quite a bit for me.

Last night i listened to all three back to back. WWG has a bit different production than Tres. Something i've never noticed before.

WWG - I love the weird/funny tracks
Thunderball - It's just great all the way through and is over before I realize it
Tres Cabrones - I like it a lot, but someone has to come in last place
