does anybody have any thoughts on the next melvins disc.  i know about the one with jello, but im skeptical b/c he sings like shit. i hope they don't mess around and put out a spoken word album. i bet the fellas think they've done every style and sound and are looking for a new direction. but i've got my fingers crossed for lysol pt.2

d

yeah right on, spoken word sucks real bad.  i'm hoping he has minimal involvment

yeah, if it's just gonna be some poetry stuff by jello, it'll suck.  but if jello sings, his vocals will still suck but at the same time at least the melvins music will be in it, so the music will be good.

It ain't going to be any spoken word album. These are SONGS they are working on. Supposed to sound like ol' DK and Black Flag if we are to believe the word of the band.

And as much as I love Lysol, it would be a little disappointing if they tried to replicate that. They are one of the few bands to stick around and actually evolve. Most bands rest on their laurels and release watered down versions of their past successes. F that!!!

I hope this is gonna be good. Im a big fan of Ministry but icant stand to listen to Biafra's voice in Lard for more then 2 songs, so i have my doubts about this.

i for one have all the confidence in the world in the melvins and what they release, prick is good for what it is.  the melvins would never put out anything that they failed at doing well.

AlmightyRetard

It would be cool if they went back to the 80's sound again...At least one more album that sounds like that....

Amen.

Yeah, even if Jello doesn't exactly have the greatest voice, I think the Melvins will still pull it off.  It'll probably be sweet.  And if they do make it sound like old-school punk like Black Flag or early DK, they'll probably still have a good original, experimental feel to it.

Jello Biafra, as well as not being able to sing, is a full on cunt who ripped off his bandmates royally. I have no idea why the Melvins want to work with such a no talent never-has-been. They should strike a deal with Gary Glitter. Now that WOULD be funny...

No he did. It all came out about 2 years back. He stiffed them on Royalties from Alternative Tenticles which is why, IMO, he's nothing but a fake Liberal and a shite musician...

The rest of the Dead Kennedys fucked Jello over man.  One look at the what the post Dead Kennedys (minus Biafra) have done will tell you everything.  DK isn't DK without Biafra.

If you actually did some research on this story, it's obvious that Biafra is innocent on all costs.

He has a great taste in music.  I mean he does own Alternative Tentacles
and has one of the biggest music collections you'll ever see.  Buzz asked Jello how many rockabilly records he has.  And he said someting like 1000....just rockabilly

Say what you want about his politics, but the guy does have alot to say and I'm sure this album will be brilliant.  The Melvins wouldn't work with someone who wasn't on the same page as them.

It will be cool...I promise.  It will come out of Alternative Tentacles.  That will be how many labels for the Melvins?  6?
