I've been thinking about the song lyrics. Although in one way i like that the songs are not narratives. The vocal lines rarely seem to connect to one another. Rather just words and phrases that sound good together and fit the song. This is a good thing because people can interpret the meanings of the songs in however way they wish. If meaning is there at all of course. But at the same time i feel like having songs be like this makes them empty in a way. That there is no resonance to the listener, nothing to latch onto or identify with. Just a series of disconnected phrases that are meaningless. No tangible emotional resonance in the bands music at all.

and the craziest part is Buzzo doesn't even take drugs.

and here we go!  see??    I was always convinced it was "Los Tik-a-toe rat".    the interpretation is in the ear of the belistener on more than just lyrical meaning.

There are a few exceptions. "Boris" seems to tell a story in its own way. "Black Bock" certainly does in its opening stanza. Both parts of "Let It All Be" are fairly straightforward.

But yeah. If there a few more songs on each record that gave you something the normies could bite into with their episode-binging brains, the Melvins might have a broader base to bilk.

You mean, the posers?

They did a cover of Teen Spirit, that didn't surprisingly change anything for them.

Almost every Melvins song has a meaning to me- Buzz did tell us to see it through our own eyes, right? To me, Ozma is their most "meaningful" album  :P

What are the Lyrics to Instant Larry?

I'm trying to summon demons,  reciting these lyrics might do the trick.
