maybe its simply an fx pedal or a mini preamp

I though the VIRUS was a keyboard/synth ?

anaconda

it's so much more, it's a synth/sampler/mixing module that
works in real time, and allows for 360

klump

does anyone have any more pics from that show???

feelmytool

THIS is the VIRUS

this is a picture of either a preamp or a fx pedal as someone stated

and alas one last picture of that beautiful Virus

just for your info..., the 2 seattle shows dec 30-31, '04.  just this last new years, Adam didn't have any gizmo's attached to his Guitar(s).  he did have some foot Pedals but really stayed off of them pretty much.
Interestingly - he had 2 guitars with him, both looked to be exactly the same type & Model, some kinda Gibson i think.  These two guitars were exactly the same color and everything.
Somebody did say they were using Rented Gear (Buzzo had his same old Black Gibson with the Duck Tape still on the Bottom of the Strap.

feelmytool

do you know what type of foot pedals or what sounds they we're making i'd greatly appreciate it

to answer my own question:
the "gizmo" attached to his guitar is probly a preamp made to have distortion or to use as a fuzz box. adam however uses it to make feedback i was playing with my acoustic plugged into my amp with distortion and noticed if i got close enough i could hold notes for long periods of time (about as close as adams gizmo) so that is my theory anyone elses would also be appreciated.

They did have all rented gear for the Seattle shows except their guitars. Dale had a few personal gizmos attached to his set. I saw Adam whip out an I-Pod and attach it to one of his pedals at one point for some sort of effect I think.

ANACONDA:   All-around genuine motherfucker.

what songs did he put his ipod out for and what type of pedal did he put it on. also what sound it made, was it song's or some weird effect

Andy

The thing on his guitar looks like it could be one of those Marshall micro half-stacks. You can get some really weird sounds if they are close to the pickups and plugged into a bigger amp through the headphone socket.
