Why did Joe Preston leave the Melvins?

I'm sure it was a combination of Joe being lazy, having a tendency to want money, and being a straight up bitch, that got him canned. A friend and I saw him not too long ago at a high on fire show, he was eating chips and salsa and drinking orange juice. It was nice seeing one of our musical heroes just hanging around stuffing his face. Heres a photo i took of his bald spot a few years ago performing as thrones.

supposedly a "joe preston" is in that photograph...
in the part of the article where it mentions all the members, it fails to include "joe preston", which is odd, since this person is in the photo.  
it also says they are all from the northwest.  like joe.
and these arms are snakes are mentioned, which has a joe connection.

joe's name is gigantic on the lysol album.

has anyone else noticed that on bullhead buzz and lori are listed as "guitar" and "bass" while dale is credited as "Drum Player".  that always gave me a chuckle.

There are other Joe Preston's around. If you do a google search you will find a.o. a conservative party candidate, a financial services recruiter and more.
I once contacted These Arms Are Snakes to ask about their Joe P and this is the answer i got:

"hey peter
no it was an entirely different joe preston. we had a good time with getting people to think it was for a while though. but our joe is living in a remote part of washington taking care of himself. he's doing awesome and there are no hard feelings. it was just something he needed to do. thanks so much for your interest in us though. that's awesome!

I don't know if Joe smokes, at that last high on fire show, he was in a trailer with matt pike and drummer boy and the members of kylesa and I'm pretty sure I smelled pot from inside the trailer, but i don't know if joe took part in any of it or if he even smokes tobacco.

any smoking by him seems definitely a thing of the past
