lol, ya'll are fucking ridicoulus, omg its a fucking FLOWER, shit. It isn't a rainbow, christ. The more and more you call something gay, you just give homosexuality another icon, yesh. Some melvins fans, can't be seen in a flower, oh no you're metal head friends might think you're lame.

As I recall someone saying a long time ago, the best melvins albums always have a flower on the cover. and take a few looks at how many flowers the melvins put on their cd's, they must be a gay icon, bigger than Cher(sp)?.


I've never thought of the melvins as a t-shirt band, they're above it now.

Keep in mind, the guy you act like you hate, never knew, Buzz accepted him, hung with him, played shows together, had him record with him. Weather or not you like it, Buzz liked Kurt, Buzz isn't envious of Kurt, but hey, go on and call Kurt a dick for making music he enjoyed(and hated) and getting famous. WHo cares. Kurt did design it, I'm pretty sure of that,but i have no proof.

I think the flower is a great image to associate with the melvins. It's colorful, it is bright and cheery, and it evokes the fresh, warm, happy times of life.

That anyone would buy a cd with a flower on it and project any of those associations on the music the Melvins play just kind of makes me happy. Happy in the "razors in your oatmeal" sort of way. Happy that the first image Buzz wants people to see before they consider the music has little at all to do with that music. It causes dissonance, more than a dark "badass" image would. It leaves people unprepared.

If Cobain did produce that design, he understood the Melvins more than most people.

Anyway, i just wanted to beat Beto and a couple others to the punch.  Back on topic, i still think the tshirt is cool.  Like a couple of users here have already mentioned, the flower is meant to throw people off, just like all those "gay" light colors the Melvins like to use on their album covers.  How many close-minded metal meatheads would even consider buying an album with a pink cover?  Whatever, im not a big fan of your run-of-the-mill Pantera or Metallica tshirts with all the skulls and whatnot.
