Now I understand thanks.  I thought it was secret code or an abbreviation of sluts.
Ridicule is nothing to be scared of.

"In the Freaktose" has some of Buzz's best guitar solos, all collaged into a hazy, drippy, shred-tastic mess. What a fucking great song. That song has everything I associate with perfect music. I love that song. Fuck. It's so damn good. I like the voice modulation as well. And it's so damn creepy, maybe as creepy as the beautiful opening song, "All of Them..."

Easily in my top 5 Melvins Albums.

and the fact mark d plays that solo doesn't make it any less good :)

nightwolf

hah, yeah i thought the solos were a bit out of buzz' league

Braykfast

Well shit. It's still ridiculously awesome. Shit. I thought Buzz did that. I wonder if he could play it. It doesn't matter. What a goddamn great fucking song.

yeah Freaktose has like an octave divider on the vocals like EVIL DEAD !!!

plus I hear some weird Drumpad rythem going down...totally over the choppy slap bass near the beggining.

that is the thrashiest melvins album In my opinion.

makes me feel like I'm in a dark and muggy swamp when I hear that shit!

anyone else actually know that the symbol on the cover is Lucifer's signature?

theres some worthless trivia,  16th century witch trials.

(there you go...HEY LOOK AT ME EVERYONE!!! I know stuff. )

bah, you don't care do you?

I always wondered about the Scream at the end of that track, It's probly just buzz...

you can crank up a distortion pedal on a mic and make a whisper sound like a scream.

funny my ears train in on that vocal signature, and I tell you It could be anything!

It could be something that isn't even a scream at all...it could be manipulated to sound like anything...something slowed down and distorted...filtered and whatnot...god knows...but I can tell you that If it WAS patton, I'm a monkey's uncle, yeah serious...

*ring*

"hello, mike patton speaking"

"yeah this is Buzz, um, we need you down here in the studio ASAP, see theres' this one part in one song..yeah, we need 3 second  scream...naw...nothing else, thats all...we were too lazy and Figured if it was gonna be anybody...it be you...and another thing...SHUT-UP!!!"

and for that matter, it was the second album I ever got...and yeah it was a game of pokemon for melvins records after that...

"gotta catch em' aaallll!!!"

funny this album is a rare bird, It is by FAR the LAST one you'd find in a record store melvins section up here.
I was lucky enough to buy up the last of the vinyl at Rotate this before it totally disapeared off the shelf indefinetly.

I don't know what was going on when they did this, but it is something most bands never live up to in their career, it's a good bet that this is what it sounds like in Buzz's head most of the time...hell...it's what my head is like most of the time.

this album kind of stands a world apart from any other melvins I've heard, I'm still hoping they'll do something in the same spirit of this album again.

right before the elavator music tune...at the very end...I only have the vinyl so maybe you can tell in the CD mix a little more clearly.

I never heard it on CD...I never heard Stag on CD either...or Bullhead.

To respond to a question from two years ago... the song is called Air Breather Deep in the Arms of Morphius. Not sure who's screaming there, would probably guess Buzz.
Hail, not fail.

I think it's funny that this guy takes the time to respond to a two year old question by telling us a song title and then just making a guess.  HA! Laugh Out Loud!
