Quote from: GoldiDamn, what a stupid question, you can't compare Melvins and Tomahawk, that's like you would compare a hamburger with spaghetti.  :D

i would say, both are great, but Tomahawk is more like "take the cd, listen to it and then put it away for some month because it gets boring"
For me it's like that, I could listen to the Melvins 24/7.

Tomahawk's first album was great, but a little too Jesus Lizardy. Their next, excluding Harlem Clowns, was even better because they expanded their sound into something unique. Lately i've been listening to more Tomahawk then Melvins. If the Melvins broke up and Tomahawk put out eighteen more unique albums, then my vote would go to Tomahawk.

definately Melvins.  Better live band too

I love Tomahawk. One of my top ten since they came out. But they would have to all make it their primary creative outlet and release new material and tour as often as the Melvins to make it even close. Also, considering that their 3rd album was such a dud (IMO) they would definitely need to be in top form like their first 2 albums.

Never. 'Oddfellows' was a bit mediocre but the other three are great!

Why the need to compare? It's childish.

WhoisMrBungle was a younger man when he started this thread. Just sayin'.

The only comparison that I need to really do is:

Silence vs. (Name of Band)

In the case of Melvins, Melvins > Silence
In the case of Tomahawk, Silence > Tomahawk

I just have always felt that their music was kind of "phoned in". The sum is smaller than all of it's parts.

(PAUL)

I like Tomahawk quite a lot but I agree on it not being as good as the musicians other bands.
Hail, not fail.
PS:  fuck him.
