yea, it was nice being able to track the loonies, like true loonies ourselves.

sometimes i get the impression that we are like a bunch of little tykes running around Brian's playground (while he watches, amused or otherwise)
i realize you are quite busy these days brian, but you should post more if you get around to it, i think it makes everyone happy when you contribute your thoughts.  i at least speak for myself, there..

First things first, the track listing is fucked up on the case.

As for the album itself, Halo of Flies isnt bad, but the HOB version is definently better. Jello's vox are mixed crappy. The global terrorism, extended space melt mix is far better than the original. Reminds me of Youth of America. The remixes arent anything terribely special. I never really got why bands would do remixes, besides, maybe improving on levels and stuff. The other songs are pretty much what you'd expect from Jellvins songs that weren't good enough for Never Breathe.

Hopefully on their they do Melvins and Jellvins, not just Jellvins. Plus who's gonna be able to pull off Kevin's basswork on locusts. Honestly.

you just hit the nail on the head.  my BIGGEST concern.   who, I ask all of you, can replace what kevin has done with not just "locusts" but any material with slide?  so we won't hear "the fool" live anymore?  this cannot be.   let's start a "get kevin cleaned-up and back where he belongs fund".    those shirts I been reading about can be our first item up for bid.

I mean, I'm sure someone can try and pull it off. Dave Scott Stone was pretty much there the whole time, and can churn out some noise himself, but man, Kevin played so damn idiosynchratic.

Its not that Joe or Mark didn't come up with some kickin shit, but its nothing at original as Kevin.  Let's just hope they can find a bass player whos jsut as nuts.

I'll take whatever Melvins I can get.  Despite Jello, the songs are good.  I really like the new mix of Caped Crusader.

I don't see what the big deal is about jello. He has a sort of cartoonish voice that works well with the melvins. You may not agree with what he has to say but he's pretty damn funny at times.

I'm just saying I like pure Melvins more, but any Melvins is good.
