My vote goes for Euthenasia, originally by Tygers Of Pan Tang...
but Second Coming/The Ballad Of Dwight Fry is really awesome and way better than the original.

Quote from: DubEMCTygers Of Pan Tang???

Tygers Of Pan Tang were one of the classic NWOBHM bands, with their first two albums (the raw, simplistic but effective Wild Cat and the more polished Spellbound) being two of the better albums of the era. (See also First Kill, released in '86 but featuring the debut album lineup and consists of various then-unreleased early tracks). Spellbound is also notable for including a young John Sykes on guitar, who would later go on to fame and fortune with Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, and Blue Murder. The band's decision to move to a more mainstream, pop-metal sound on their subsequent releases was in retrospect a questionable move, as fans of the early material were turned off and the anticipated new audience never really materialized. Amidst lineup changes and poor reviews, the band finally called it a day after the release of Burning In The Shade

but Euthenasia is the first track off of their debut album

You know what I've been going off that information from a Melvins web site from about ten years ago so I figured I'd check it out---Man thats some OTHER song called Euthenasia. I guess it was Buzz pulling my leg again. But he DID say it was a cover song---so who was it originally by? The lyrics definitely indicate it is NOT a Melvins song.

Yeah, Youth of America is a great cover (I love the Wipers), my bad, Euthanasia is by another band, sounds very similar to the Wipers, its a live version. Hmm I can't find who it's by, I'm certain it's not a Melvins original.

And here's some information on http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=17:460304~T00C which apparently offers no futher information. The only 80s version is by Tygers of Pan Tang and I listened to that version and it's obviously no ToPT cover.

Joe Deutrom

Jerkin' Krokus or God of Thunder.
