I am just wondering what is a good album to start with to check out The Melvins. I am a big fan of Tomahawk and recently Fantomas but the sheer volume of Melvins releases over the years is a little daunting.

Reverend Ebeneezer

Stoner Witch, or Melvinmania. Both will ease you in gently and if you like what you hear, try Houdini, Stag, Hostile Ambient Takeover and beyond!

You should start with their most accessible records first.
Pick up Colossus of Destiny, and Prick. Lots of hooks and
plenty of variety on those two

Colossus of Destiny for sure.  Everynight I masturbate furiously and fall asleep to the soothing soundtrack that is Colossus of Destiny.  You won't regret it.

favorite melvins cds are the ones with joe preston and mark d
lori is crap. i just got the salad dvd, very heavy and funny i love joe
