I hope beck and the melvins could do something together, it just would be natural.

Actually I believe it was Jerry Fallwell who blamed 9.11 on america's congeniality with gays, the acl u and....... commies maybe.

I think it was both of them. Pat definately said something along those lines. Those two think alike.

8)Thanks Vinney.

what's considered Beck's 1st album? Mellow Gold was his breakthrough record, but not his 1st, right? i would like to hear this.

i think it says in the liner notes to the Crybaby that they wanted Beck to do Smells Like Teen Spirit with them.  i think Leif Garret does a great job though.  that is such a weird cover, without actually being out of the ordinary.

you know what would really be cool?  Ween and the Melvins doing a project.  that to me would be pure insanity.  or maybe some more Tool and the Melvins, they work so well together on "Divorced".

are we certain that beck didnt just sample the melvins sample of the preacher?
he sampled the melvins for the guitar feedback in beercan, so maybe.....

he also sampled the drum outro from cow on soul sucking jerk.
wasn't beck supposed to do a song on crybaby?
I recall Buzz saying that Beck's management never got back to them.

Stereopathetic Soul Manure is a collection of recording made between1988 and 1993, but came out just after Mellow Gold.

One Foot in the Grave was also recorded before Mellow Gold.

Beck sings "dont believe everything that you breathe" in the loser song...

That preacher is most definately Pat Robertson. One of the most evil people on Earth. This is the guy who said that 9/11 happened because there are too many homosexuals in NYC. He's said a lot of stupid shit like that, he's famous for it.

<snip>

Recently in New Zealand - the leader of the major christian political party got busted for molesting little girls over like a ten year period.

Awww man - its so nice to look back at how hypocritical he was - he used to passionately preach all that usual religious moral bullshit. Now no-one in New Zealand is gonna listen to that kind of message again for a long time - until people forget about it maybe.

And now he is in jail and moaning about being treated real bad.

I just fired up a joint with my friend Derek from the band grasshopper,
he came over to buy some records, so i put the eggnog 10" onto
my stereo and we listened, man I love this crazy shit from the past!
They used to really get creative, anyways it's a great older melvins
record - he didnt take it though, i want $30 firm.

anaconda

on second puff, its not for sale. eventhough i have the cassette and CD as well, lol :? :o

eggnog is definantly a gem of an album. I wonder, whens the last time the melvins played "hog-leg" live, i know charmacat (sp) is played here and there -far far between here and there.
