And who are you to ask anything from him at all?
He doesn't owe you shit. Play with that thought for a while...

you're right, he doesn't.  i just think it's stupid to be a dick to somebody for no logical reason.

Yeah I donno how to really put it into words. Its not exactly the songs (c'mon Soup, At the Stake ect.) The production??? Yeah, I just can't put my finger on it . . . but I feel it. Sure in alota ways their more mainstream but thats not it . . . a good song = a good song. I think its Mark . . . he woulda fit better in some crap band like Alice in Chains or Soungarden. I think so far Kev's been the standout . . . his psychotic sea sick style just gelled like magik. Lori was ok but I think the myth is built more on the fact she was a chick . . . he bass is competent w/ no real style . . . Joe was good but he's definatly flowered since . . . I think the Big Biz thing will be tasty . . . but yeah Kev made me sea sick an' I like that

i'm sure your contribution to music far surpasses that of a true seattle grunge act like alice. get real. alice will go down in history as one of the greatest bands of there time.

Sorry man, but I don't think so.

well lets through nirvana into that crap seattle grunge scene too along with alice and soundgarden.

i would wager you people say this because of corprate radio overkill. i imagine you people must really love system of a down?

I am not a Nirvana fan. I've listened to them from time to time. I'd call them derivative at best. Soundgarden never really did much for me either. The only AIC I ever heard that was worth a shit was the semi-acoustic ep called Sap. So there. I don't listen to corporate radio at all. I've never heard System Of A Down.  I wouldn't classify Alice In Chains as a great band ever.
Do yourself a favor and listen to some Pagans, Germs, Wipers Black Flag, Chrome and more Melvins. You'll be glad you did.

thanks for the recommendations although the period of time i am talking of is 80's and 90's and the place is seattle.

i know there are some other great bands before and after this period and from different places.

i believe aic was a great band during this period. soundgarden i was never into although i do like a couple songs of there early stuff. a lot of bands over time have a way of "sucking".  aic never fell into this catagory as evidence of there last album self titled.

history none the less.

At this point who really cares?

i agree, although it's wizer and of better charma to not bash someone who's fucking dead and a band that doesn't exsist anymore. sounds like someone caught a severe case of that stiff upper lip disease thats been goin round.

My musical contribution has no bearing on the matter.

so you draw a direct correlation that mark d. is a pop star grunge bassist that belongs in dead junkie seattle bands.......true brilliance dude! so where does kevin R. belong then? maybe it was kevin that shat in mark d's hat. i call bullshit, music has many faces of talent. to say layne wasn't talented or cantrell wasn't a good guitarist is ludacris. wow herion was big......deal with it. i'm guessing you call the screaming tree's shit, and you call sonic youth shit, mother love bone shit, god forbid we call the melvins pre houdini seattle grunge, oh and at the top of our little scene was kurt k. our herion poster boy. the real question is in 10 years from now is the music that you listen to gonna be shit?
