what melvins songs did you not like at first but now have a love for?

-i thought this would be interesting since melvins do that, after 100 plays it becomes sooooo good.

i'd have to say ligature and black bock have really gotten to me
i used to dislike both, but now i really feel them.
ligature feels like what the song should be- slow and straining

and black bock is just wonderful, it's so unique and unmelvinsy, yet very strong

Can't say i've never "disliked" a song or album, but I've certainly reintroduced myself to a few I never  gave a chance.  Mostly Honky.  Which I now LOVE.

and happy very late b-day Cap'n.

thanks man!
i haven't been on here for a while, so i appreciate that a lot.

i knew the second i said hate or dislike everyone would be like "whoa whoa whoa...hate?!  ...melvins?!"
heh.

i was different with honky, i remember i got it when i was on a trip to new orleans with my family and i put it in, then the lovely butterflies came on while they were driving and it scared the shit out of them, and irritated.  it was instant love.
at that point also the only melvins "video" i had seen had been the one for mombius hibachi....gah, i have to say it's one of my favorite albums because it's one of those ones you can listen to many times and get something new from it.

i hear ya though

Michael Jordan

Boris - I don't know how I could skip boris for most of the first 50-100 times I listened to bullhead. of course it's one of my melvins' favs now.

Hag Me - A couple of years ago I stared listening a lot to original houdini again and realised what a great song it is.

Why say no to drugs when you can say yes?

Those are both my favorite songs off the respective albums.  I think boris is maybe the 2nd or 3rd Melvins song I ever heard.  Brings back memories of high school and just totally fucking off in class.

yeah, hag me is one of those songs that just takes a while to understand how great it really is
it reminds me of a day in the hot blistering sun barefoot on very sizzling asphalt.
