Maybe this has been talked about before but whatever happened to David Scott Stone? I was listening to here come the waterworks and was wondering why he disappeared from the Melvins world.  They seemed to be all about him for some time. I really enjoyed him on the 2x4 tour. I'm thinking there must've been some kind of falling out. Anyone?

According to Jello, Buzz had a falling out with DSS; over what he did not specify ... Jello tried to get 'em to kiss and make up but Buzz apparently wasn't having any part of it ... and so bye, bye Davey! Too bad DSS 2x4 tour (and subsequent tours) was epic ... loved him on as 2nd guitar/noise ... I posted this with a transcript of Jello's comments way back in the good old days. Maybe its still around here donno? I did a quick search but got bored ... sorry

According to Jello, Buzz had a falling out with DSS; over what he did not specify ... Jello tried to get 'em to kiss and make up but Buzz apparently wasn't having any part of it ... and so bye, bye Davey! Not that it matters but I wonder if that falling out was over money. They must've had that guy on retainer for a while there. Maybe LCD Soundsystem money was better?

Donno ... though I've seen interviews since with DSS and he always speaks very highly of Buzz, Dale and his experience with the Melvins thru the years (was Stag first thing he was on?). Tho I got the vibe from Jello's comments that it was more personal than business.

Yeah, Get Hustle ... so is Mac Mann who's also played on some Melvins stuff. Late 90s Mackie was in the band. I picked up their album Earth Odyssey while road tripping New Zealand years ago ... its great, spazzed out creepy noir noise rock ... only thing I've ever heard by them tho

I don't think DSS did something on Stag but i might be wrong. Remember that year he replaced Kevin on bass..those shows were weird in a good way

I remember that tour. I was disappointed when DSS came out on bass. I liked him on second guitar off on the side making wired noises  but I did not like him replacing Kevin on bass. He tried but he was no where near Kevin's caliber in playing or moves. I mean come on Kevin had that gyrating thing down to a science. He could do it to the rhythm and he could do it out of rhythm. And with that hi cut mumu the ladies had no chance.

That show I saw him on in '01 was bottom of the barrel. I bought COD that night and listened to it when I got home. I seriously thought this band was circling the drain at that point. But luckily, HAT came out and they were smokin again.

Weird, all the shows I saw from 2001 were freakin' smoking hot cream of the crop! I got a really great vid (prob my fave of all boots I've seen) from Slim's on the '01 tour ... and guess what? It's smoking hot! Even got the soundcheck ... "The Highlander! There Can Be Only One!" And then while in Oz I got a care package w/ COD and I listened to it whilst cumming multiple times "Stop Fucking Me; You're Giving Me A Headache!" Luckily HAT came out and it continued the massive smoking hot cream of the crop that was dawn of a new millennium Melvins

I had seen them on every tour since 94. I didn't understand why they had 2 guitarists all of the sudden with no explanation. I wasn't following music online at the time, so I had to piece together info from the album credits and what few interviews showed up in publications I read back then. I walked away from that show believing that DSS added nothing to my favorite band and was a dud in the stage presence category as well. What are you guys, hipsters or something?
