For some reason I associated Hash with opium based narcotics.. very strange.

Hash is just another form of THC, just more potent. It's made from dried & pressed weed leaves, usually mixed w/ a (non-opiate)resin.
It could be described by some users to be a opiate-like high I guess, mostly 'cause it's more potent than weed usually is.

I prefer hash for several reasons. First of all, weed got me really paranoid fr a while one or two years ago, it drove me crazy. That's when I quit smoking weed for a while and eventually I started again with hash. Maybe it's just mental, but hash gives me a way more relaxed feeling. Weed gets you stoned, hash doesn't really, high would be a better word.

Also, the smell is just so much way better, some hash flavours are just delicious. With good hash, I can even enjoy it when a friend of mine is smoking it. If they would make candy of certain flavours, I'm posiitve it would become a world wide success.

On the other hand, usually weed is usually easier to roll, especially when it's dry and easy to crumble. Hash take a little longer, but that also depends on what hash you got. I prefer polm from Morocco, which is really different than hash from Afghanistan for example. I like my hash soft and flavoured, the strength doesn't really matter to me since it's gonna make me high eventually anyway. When I'm at home and smoke hash, I want to feel relaxed and listen some music, not stoned.

Also, I once mentioned ice-o-lator here, here in Holland you can also buy ice-hash, which is hash with a thc level of about 50 to 60 percent. And in case you were wondering, hash and weed are both the same price.
