melvins remix album to be released on ipecac this fall

i bought it in a store in amsterdam yesterday already.

What is your opinion of it?

not much, and that's all i'm gonna say about it. i foresee a long residence for the disc in its case. buzz's definition of weird is an interesting one for sure...

i had some cd coupons left and i always end up buying stuff then i would never have bought with real money

The biggest problem i see with it is the same as with the the covers album. A few people have done imteresting things with the songs, just like a few did interesting covers of songs. The rest of them are just satisfied with making the Melvins tracks into noise, which is indistiguishable from their (the remixers) normal output and kind of goes against the whole Melvins aesthetic.

The good remixes are damn good though.

you're right, i scanned the review quickly, didn't read the reviews of those tracks carefully enough.

I'd love to find out who did the fake version. Some of it is pretty funny.

i havent heard it yet, but after having heard the real thing, i'd love to hear a mix of kelis' milkshake and some gnarly buzzo riffs

Just checked my local record shop (as I was picking up Dopesmoker on vinyl) and made sure they set aside a Chickenswitch for me next week when they get them in.  They already had some on order.

word 'round these parts is that the leak is a complete fake as many people will tell you. I myself have not heard it but lots of people on here have and all say it is a fake.
