Ultimately this is an unnecessary album with a few interesting moments.

In other words, we'll love it!

:D

Exactly, it's going to be great!

Also they reviewed the new Om album and it has unnecessary sitars and bongos :(
For your health!

That review was unnessasary. Can someone remix it?......you have 5 years.

Looking forward to getting this on Sept. 29th. I love the idea of them giving each remixer and entire album worth of songs to remix rather than just one. It should be really awesome to hear everyone's interpretation of Melvins tunes.
What would a woman that fine want in a big, fat, nasty, greasy, fat, stank, bloated, cheesy-backed, 12-sandwich-eatin' bastard?

Turn around mister, and never trust a girl giving her donuts away for free.

This is for JZS...

The Wire magazine reviewed the album and I am going to type it out for you here goes:

"A Melvins remix album?

Melvins are fundamentally a heavy rock band, albeit a highly individualistic one,
If nothing else, post-Metal pranksters have recruited an impressive cast of guests, than anything in the Melvins catalogue.

Surprisingly, The Melvins have released a bunch of those over the years

Here's another remix of the article for JZS...

"A Melvins remix album? electronic noise heavy rock  should probably be left to exist as such. But clearly they believe otherwise.

If methodology is interesting: the pranksters have recruited an impressive cast of  Farmer's among others, and given each an entire single track, to work with throbbing, hyper songs together with only minimal snippet of bass and techno.

Surprisingly it does Buzz big dance beat the latter of which basically loops a thunderous Dale Crover that retains much essential Melvins-ness. Ultimately this is outside help."

There is a snippet from Speedranch's track on amazon.com.  It is downloadable for 99 cents.

Speedranch is quite possibly one of the weirdest musicians I've ever heard of

I thought Chicken Switch was that new supergroup with Hagar in it.

Listening to the previews on Amazon right now. Hard to get a good idea of how this will flow. So far, I haven't heard much to get excited about. A couple of the re-mixes sound exactly like the originals. Re-mixing is a tough lot. How do you improve on a formula perfected by someone else?

I thought the Melvins had created new music and pushed it off to others to re-mix, but this is existing material? I'll probably buy it anyway, cause I'm a sucka, but I was a bit disappointed to discover this

This is going to be interesting.  I was expecting something along the lines of the Electroretard stuff, not Melvins w/ dance beats.  That being said, I'm still looking forward to being able to hear the full tracks.  I can't imagine how cool it would be to have access to the master tapes and be able to seperate tracks and remix something.  I'd love to have a stab at that.

yeah, it's hard to judge what this thing sounds like with only 15 second clips.
