Can Buzzo shred on the guitar?

I think that Buzz can play a solid lead, but has limited range. He treats solos more like a texture with dissonant string bends and many of them have similar approaches. Not metal, not blues. One of my favorites is Youth of America and I think Hund is good too! Both of those are a little different. Mark D gets credit for any actual shredding on a Melvins album. (Ex. Fick Fader)

A solo needs context imho. I don't hear Buzz as a guitarist who sings with his guitar, generally, but he can take a beat and add "texture" as you said. I dig "Graveyard" where I think he's intentionally making use of the space.

Mark's solos, though, whew! Some technical/showy, some lyrical, some bluesy, but always transformative.

I think his way to approach solos is awesome, I like to call them "anti-solos" because they don't sound like the conventional guitar solo you usually listen to... I'm still trying to figure out how he does it because I simply can't do it that way.

I think that Buzzo guitar solo on 'divorced' is pretty much the epitome of ultra train wreck playing of all time, hands down.

There are two small guitar solos, clearly the first one (08:45) is from Adam and the second solo (08:56) is from Buzz... In the same way, the drum solo duel features Dale on the left channel and Danny on the right channel.
