My older brother was a Melvins fan from day one,
most of the cassettes I inherited from him when he
went off to college. I got into them around this time,
I was 14 or 15. The later stuff I got on cassette when
I was DJ'ing at the college radio station. CMJ and other
magazines used to include advance copies of indie
and underground bands on cassette shrinkwrapped with
their monthly issues. Walkmans were the in thing
so this was the format they used. I still have a walkman!!

an advance promo/mind fuck if I remember

The only stuff I have is all of their stuff on cd, the Salad of 1000 Delights dvd, Melvins/Fantomas Big Band dvd, a few shirts and a live recording of them in Orlando in 2006.

i have the prick tape, bu have never heard of the ELECTRORETARD tape and HONKY tape... what labels have released those 2 tapes... need more info!!! maybe you could post pics of the j-cards opened? thanx

Hate to disappoint but the insides are just blank white, no printing. They're generic.
I believe these were limited runs used as advance promo copies, only sent to college
radio stations that subscribed to CMJ at the time.
