word up people.   I felt the same way about kevin. I hated to see him go.  but as I've said and many other people around here,    I put my trust in buzz. he hasn't let me down yet. if he feels a change is in the best interest of the future of MELVINS, than so be it.

besides,  I think he made a solid choice in replacements.   if you're going to add bass and drums jared and coady are the obvious answer.  they already got their own chemistry to bring to the table.

Yes.  I raise my chalce.

As much as I don't like certain Melvins LP's especially up against others, look at the fucking track record.  So much music out there is so awful.  If there's a 'Most unstale 20 year old band in the history of the world', it would be them.

i was very sad to see kevin go also...but.....now..............
i enjoyed kevin's stage presence a lot, but honestly i never really thought of him as a real person.  haha! maybe this is funny to say.  he was so fucking bizarre that i hardly considered him human.  i did like that aspect of him, but after seeing the melvins last night as this coherent unit of musicians each with their own personality and liveliness, i was really pleased.  i saw a short clip of the melvins playing in kevin-era today, and it just seemed that something was missing.  seeing dale play by himself was depressing in an odd way.  it was like he was lonely back there.  it was like buzz and dale alone on a stage with some space alien gyrating away in the other corner.  as i've already said, in the past i found that dynamic incredibly pleasing, as i enjoy alternate and extreme presentations of reality and perceptive experience, but the new line-up feels very real and grounded and .."full".   i am a fan.

OF THE MELVINS!  i'm so happy about that.

Excellent interview, I didn't find Buzz irritated at all but completely honest in every aspect and I like that.

I can't agree more about Kevin's bizarre nature.  That's a huge part of why the dude is so great.  The Cows are the only band I've ever seen that I was actually afraid to make eye contact with while they were playing.  Their stage schtick was so convincing, and besides, they'd make spectacles of anyone in the audience that they could.

I think the only person in the Heroine Sheiks is Shannon at the moment, and he's moved back to Minneapolis. I definitely read that somewhere.

And yes, Kevin was like a space alien. That's what we loved about him surely? That and his bass sounding like an angry elephant stamping on Buzz and Dale on HAT.
For your health!
