what the fuck...go to allmusic.com and type in "country teasers" as the artist.  scroll down to discography and select "Satan is real again".  i think you will all notice that at the bottom of the window for this album, under credits, you will see the drums attributed to none other than buzz osborne.  very interesting to me.  also when you input "buzz osborne" in the artist search, you get a page that shows a picture of him with the other melvins, and the link to this album appears in the window as well.

has anyone heard of this?  is it a very well-hidden piece of melvins trivia?  gene? (heh heh)

I haven't seen that but I do know that sometimes allmusic.com is a less than reliable source especially with their links.  nOt that it's anything short of amazing just everythings hit or miss sometimes (except the melvins).

It's possible that there's another Buzz Osbourne, and they just got confused with the links on King Buzzo's page... Remember, Osbourne's a common surname and Buzz is a fairly common nickname...

Maybe...

In the March to Fuzz booklet (Mudhoney 2cd set) under the "Drinking for Two" song Mark Arm sez "I'd been listening to Satan is Real Again by the Country Teasers an awful lot when i wrote this one."

Are the Melvins friends with Mudhoney or is this just a coincidence?

Anonymous

Of course they are friends with Mudhoney.  Matt Lukin went on to play bass with them and Mudhoney is supporting the Melvins on the 20th anniversary tour.

I actually wonder if Lukin will come out of retirement at the Olympia show and play a little Eye Flys.  That would be monumental.

Did someone say Lukin? Thats the magic word!!!!!

do you guys think that buzz osbourne is relatively decent on drums?  i assume he is, because he probably jams on dale's kit once in a while since they've been together for 20 years.

anaconda

He plays the guitar very percussively! he strikes alot
of down pickings rapidly like beats in a tempo almost.

But Barrett Jones and Dave Grohl did the drums on Buzz's
solo CD, so it make ya wonder now don't it! see? ya see.

Dale said Buzz writes most of the beats.

CaptPungent

Great info! It probably is Buzz. I'll be sure to ask him when I see them in March.
