The specific album I am referring is in fact Ozma/GPT. They are masterpieces by themselves no doubt, but having them together in one convenient package is sensory overload.

Does it get any better than Ozma/GPT/Bullhead/Eggnog/Lysol?  :D

Put them on..and the party starts.

speaking of genious melvins albums that are lost and found...

I thought I lost egg nog.  I had the case but could find the disc nowhere.  so I went out and got me another copy. low and behold the old one popped up in a different case.

now I got two.   I would be inclined to move one to someone here who happens to not have it at a very reasonable price.  I'd rather se it get into the hands of a true melvins junky at a reasonable price then throw it up on ebay and let MITROWSKI run the price up out of reach for other poor folk like myself.

look me up if you happen to have any interest.

If Ozma is a Dale showcase, then GPT is a Buzz showcase as it has some nasty sounding guitar playing and solos.

I really hate that album. Heater Moves and Eyes is the worst, the way that guitar comes in makes me sick.

you're kidding.  please tell me you're kidding.   Heater Moves and Eyes is a top 5 melvins song in my book.

For a second there I thought another blasphemy was taking place.

TJP

I just got this on vinyl the other day and noticed it had "millions of dead melvins" scratched on the centre part by the label and "melvin pole bath tub" on the other side , has anybody else got this or something different written on there vinyl copy?

anaconda

I don't, but I wanted to make an observation about the lyrics of Cranky Messiah.
I think in the last verse Buzz is referring to Dale being like a brother to him,
almost a disciple if you will:

"Pounded air patterns, convey messages
you're the brother sended, to the brother soul."

anaconda

i think it's Dale's hands being beaten bloody by his playing without gardening gloves   back in the day

Interesting observation Conda. I think you might be right.
