blow outs, crossed lines, missed connestions and poorly done circles.

I hope you get someone to try to fix that before going further into it. def find a different tattooer. just sayin.

all that aside, welcome aboard!

edit; if anyone thought i was being rude or passive-aggresive, as someone recently told me in a pm, than apologies to anyone who thought so esp shen. i can be super critical when it comes to my field of work, and didnt mean to be such an ass to anyone here. it comes spills out sometimes. a few years ago i'm sure my 'karma' here would've taken a huge dive haha.

That's rough man.  Her tattoo looks fine to me, I've seen plenty of awful tattoos too.  Even one of a tutu.  I didn't see any of that stuff you mentioned but, I'm guessing, you are a tattoo artist with a meticulous eye.  Still, that's rude.  And what's a connestion?

irezumi

my bad. didnt mean to be as harsh as that sounded. yeah poorly said on my part. when i see something that should be done better, i feel the urge to say something to help save it if it's still possible.

what I should've said to be polite would've been "hey, your atist screwed up a bunch of stuff; shop around for a different artist that can still try to repair it. it can still be saved for the most part."

blow outs are where the line spread unintentionally, usually from where the artist didnt hold the machine at a proper angle (the short lines around the top of the pineapple). too close together as well. they will blur together over time, and it will be very blob-ish after a few years.

missed connections are where a line meets poorly when you try to join them, making an abnormally thick line where it shouldn't be. half of the lines on the glass, left side of the basket, some of the lines on the leaves on the left, most of the linework on the top of the pineapple, left side of the basket, linework on the oranges etc. it's commonly done when some one tried to meet the line from 2 different directions instead of picking up the line going the same direction it was going in the first place.

plenty of lines missing in all of the leaves, and more than I need to point out anymore. a lot of rookie mistakes. this is permanent. people should have the best work possible. they live with it forever. a professional can save a lot of this. she needs to go to a different shop/artist. this was done at a shop, i hope?

if someone here posted a song their friend recorded, and said "hey check this out" somebody here would point out of if he was playing out of tune, off-beat, or playing same note twice becuase they screwed it up the first time, esp if it was all of those things at once, and there would be nothing wrong with pointing that out. at least a song can be played and recorded a second time.

if someone wants to call me a dick, then so be it. i can live with that. I'm a pretty nice guy irl and my presence here on melvins.net for the last 8 years has been 99.9% positive posts.

Please, Shenanigans, talk to us before you decide to amputate. When I see Irezumi for a Melvins tat (it's on the cards) I'm gonna ask him to deliberately include all those mistakes he mentioned. Half my letterpresses have ink/blood droplets, smudges and spelling mistakes on them - I don't see why my arms shouldn't be any less perfect.

I was thinking of getting tats of the paintings of Buzz and Dale from the inside of Stag on my upper arms. Thoughts? I don't have any tattoos or experience with tattoos either so if anyone has suggestions they'd be welcome.
