ah, interesting. i seemed to recognize the lyrics from At The Stake, but the music was totally different and reminded to the solo song

I suspect "At The Stake" was originally recorded by slowing down the demo and then playing to match that. Like "The Anti-Vermin Seed" it has that feel.

Yes, when watching it i was thinking - is Dale really pissed off there or just acting. It makes for a great end to a show but thinking sensibly he could easily have broken some gear doing that and needed to spend to repair/replace it. I'm sure he wouldn't have wanted to do that!

Apparently this was the setlist that night. Quite a lot for an opener!

It's funny with Dale, in interviews he seems really nice. The type of guy who would be very easy to get along with. Yet very occasionally on stage he seems hugely annoyed!! Either channeling some inner aggression to get through the set or maybe just some very human reaction to some other thing bothering him in that moment.

That clip genuinely surprised me too at the time. Thought back to Michael Azerrad's book on Nirvana and some interesting Dale comments about treating instruments with a sense of sanctity. Could be a case at the time of not having much money and taking value to your belongings.

He also noted one stipulation to Kurt and Krist on that 1990 tour is not to jump in his drum kit at any point and they respected his wishes.
