Hello.

Well, my gripe about the sixty minute set is groundless for this show. I did not time it or any such nonsence. The quick set concept actually worked in favor this time around, although I will still hold that the HAT tour was kind of lame lengthwise. I left exhausted and elated at this celebration, and the set sure seemed longer than an hour. It was an honor and a privilege to be here, and this is the tightest I have ever seen them play.

Here is the set: (this is in chronological order of release because I was not taking notes)

Snake Appeal
It's Shoved
With Teeth
Hooch
Night Goat
Queen
Tipping the Lion
Lovely Butterfly
Manky
Let it All Be
Youth of America
Black Stooges
The Fool, The Meddling Idiot
Promise Me
Halo of Flies

The Book: Fuckin buy it!!!!

The CD I will give five Beto's:

Here is the Low down:
I have yet to listen to Prick or COD, but:

Night Goat=AmRep single
If You Get Board=K records Let's Together cassette comp 1984
At A Crawl=K records Let's Kiss cassette comp 1984
Forgotten Principles=Mangled Demos 1984 (probably the same as Singles 1-12)

Long Live the King!

Also melvins is gay cuz some of their songs are just noise, i tell you this so you all don't buy albums and find out only one two songs is good on them.

I'm going to try. It doesn't look good right now with their 21+ bullshit. I'm going to call. I'm going to complain. If you guys want to help. Please call them and complain. (831) 423-1338 Please do call and complain. Once again, call and complain. Do not buy their tickets. Call, complain, tell them that you won't go to their club anymore. Ask to talk to the manager, Complain. Rinse and Repeat the next day. Hopefully, by Saturday, they change their age limit to at least 18+, that can get me in. I'll tape the show, and I can assure you all, that you will have video of the show. I will post my FTP info up for everyone. Just call, and complain, plz, Thanks.
If you don't like calling, then e-mail IPECAC and tell them that you want to see the show but they only allow 21+. Send enough of those in, I'm sure IPECAC is going to say something to them.

uhh

21+ bullshit?

The only show I know of thus far that wasn't 21+ was Portland. I dont know if Olympia will be or not.

21+ shows rule. You'll find out when your of age!! :)

Good luck getting in, maybe its time you bite the bullet and get a fake id.

I came like a million times, french kissed my best friend, and felt on Mars when I walked out of the Chrystal Ball Room!  I've seen them many many times, and yet, though every show feels like it's the best one I've seen, I think this one may very well have been.  I thank God and Country that it wont be the last, and mourn that I can't get into the Oly show tonight.

UUmmmm....how come I never get to stand next to Cynthia? Although there was this beautiful Melvinette standing in front of me doing this wonderful slow sway thang during "The Fool", leaning her head on me....drat this shyness.
I think the best memory of this show will be father, bless him. He was the 50 year old in the orange shirt up close and in the pit. For some reason the man is obsessed with holding his own, he has to be in the middle of the pit. So "Butterfly" starts and I lose my balance from the crowd momentum. Some kind soul helped me up from my BACK and rescued my glasses from being smashed by feet. Big thanks. Anyway, I'm like fuck this, I wanna concentrate on the show, not DIE. I make my way to the side and groove for a bit. Alas, I start feeling guilty about leaving the old man out there. After a few songs I see him about 10 feet away, looking like Santa Clause in the middle of a hurricane. As it turns out, after I left he went towards the merch table where my friends were standing and called them all "a buncha pussies...not even breaking a sweat". When I found him he called me a pussy as well. On the way home he raved on and on about the Melvins, and how I have to keep taking him to shows because the young energy adds years onto his life. Good Times!
Also melvins is gay cuz some of their songs are just noise, i tell you this so you all don't buy albums and find out only one two songs is good on them.

blacksanta, that is hilarious. I saw that old guy in the orange shirt in the mosh pit, I got shoved down once, and I kept thinking to myself what the fuck is he doing in there? I found a nice spot right in front of kevin, there was a platform a couple of inches off the ground, and I had a good view of dale and buzz from the side.

errr

Portland was by far the rowdy-est crowd of all the 4 shows I caught...
I had 2 drunk chicks fighting next to me by my stand in PDX, one elbowed the other in the face, then I was forced to push them away from my mic stand and my gear until security took them away...

Seattle was WAY mellower... only a few people got tossed that I saw..

San Fran was prolly the easiest going crowd.

OlyWA was alright... except the dick who started fighting with  a bouncer and Buzz ended up stopping mid-song. I hope that big fucking bouncer kicked the shit outta him in the parking lot.

This Portland show was so amazing, I thought it couldn't even get better then Mudhoney's In n Out of Grace and Sweet Young Thing aint Sweet no more, but boy was I wrong...They even played a Wipers song?  Just for Portland... :)   (Well, maybe not, but we loved it anyways.)

Oh ya, and we saw Buzz and Dale outside, but I got too scared..They are pretty big, ya know?
