Thats amazing! Channelling the melvins spirit by recording in the melvan,
it looks like it's a little outdoor party space now. Thats also very cool Hanz.

Did those single star converses on the floor belong to cobain??  8)

Ha, no.  They belonged to Benn, the guy with the old Melvins shirt on.

We partied in that van for years.  It needs a good scrubbin' inside.

Yea, we thought recording in there was make for a good story, and it turned out it made great acoustics for the vocals.

Ha, I wanna hear it! :D
My buddy is doing the final mix, but I won't be back home to get the tape from him for a few weeks.  Then I have to remember how to run my 4 track into the computer and record it.  I know it can be done because I've done it before, just gonna be a trial and error process.  Should be easy though.

ninigiku

is buzz using a drop B tuning on any of those tracks from the maggot?

sorry i tried posting a longer reply but i had 404 errors and whatnot

Judy is mad.🤣

Hey Hanz, i have a 4 track exactly the same. I actually used it as a mixer for some of the parts in my track.

Well, i found it interesting anyway.

Doody the Clown

Night Goat cover recorded in the Melvan... that's more than epic, and I can bet the small space adds a certain echoey being-in-a-van type effect to the vocals.

I don't even have a 4 track or anything... just a relatively suitable studio mic hooked up to a preamp and then my PC that I put right next to my amp.  There's not very much outside noise that gets in, and I think it sounds relatively good for such a ghetto rig.

Now if I could play better.  I have a friend who's an accomplished guitarist but he's kind of a drifter and hard to get ahold.  Next time I see him I'll force him to learn some Melvins songs and put some guitar recordings up.

I thought yours was an 8 track.  Not the first time I've been wrong.

i would be interested in doing skeeter..............."does this look like pus to you?  no i think its lint...."

Not that it matters, but that's actually all Dave Grohl.
Doesn't Buzz play guitar on it? I was sure he did. I knew everything else was grohl. Maybe i'm wrong.
I was under the impression Grohl only did the talking/drums.  If he did the guitar there's really no explanation as to why the Foo Fighters suck so much.

But according to the wiki the song appeared 2 years prior on a demo Grohl did and all the music was played by him.  Maybe Buzz actually contributed the guitar to that song on the demo and Grohl just never bothered to mention it?

I think at the very most he MAY have had a hand in remixing it. It's certainly the same track as the Late/Pocketwatch demos.

Seven of Spades

Hey Handzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz,
King of Diamonds called today and we are going to mix the "GOAT"
this upcoming Saturday. He said he is going to bring his PC down with
him so we should have something streamed to you by Sat. or Sun. Also,
he said he would help me get those oh so sweet sounds of the Melvan on
here as well. I got that mixed down from the master tape, I don't know if
I told you that or not......

Do you really think we should put those ohh so sweet, Harmoniuosly
sounds of the Melvan in the song? It does have a nice couple of Bursts of
pure thunder! Did you know that we drove that van the wrong way up
and down the main stretch in Aberdeen one late summer night in '92??
That was awesome, we didn't caught......   777
