If there be anything that they've done that you haven't liked what is it? Me personally I approve of everything that they've done thus far. I was at the show in Athens in 06 and I was talking to this guy in the merchandise line and I just thought I'd ask what his favorite album was and of course he said, "Houdini." He asked me what my favorite was and I said, "Lysol." The guy looked at me like what the fuck was I talking about. So I told him it was the album with the Native American on the horse. He then replied," What?! Why the fuck do you like that noise shit?" I was stunned, I had in my head why the fuck would you be hear if you didn't like at least THAT album. I tried to explain to him the build up that the first track Hung Bunny leads into Roman Dog Bird which to me is their heaviest song ever. The guy acted like he never even got past Hung Bunny. I was very saddened by this. Why even be here if you don't like all their stuff they've done? It seems the only thing he'd ever heard was Houdini. Don't know. Comments? Things the Melvins have done that you've liked least? Or whatever. Just a twist on things since the board is usually devoted to things that we love about the Melvins or are concerned with.

I still can't bring myself to listen to or buy either of the Jello Biafra albums.

least favorite thing the Melvins have done???? ....not printing more Trilogy copies Vinyl

I am the Sun

I'd say it's the Fantomas/Melvins Big Band Recording simply because of the recording quality, but otherwise I've loved everything else The Melvins (and Fantomas) have done

Probably prick.

I don't know or care whether it is a serious album or a "joke" but it has to be the least fav for me. I think I only listened to it like 15-20 times.

I do like the Biafra stuff, was listening to it quite a bit lately. Don't know why people can't relate to it.
Why say no to drugs when you can say yes?

Asking my least favorite thing is an impossible question to answer. Let me make clear that I love the Melvins because it's one of the few bands that do whatever the fuck they want for over twenty years and they still don't suck. So even if they made a few 'mistakes' throughout the journey, it's really not that relevant because you have to understand the bigger picture. I can understand why people choose Prick or CoD as their least favorite thing musically, but it's albums like that that exemplifies exactly what the Melvins are about. It's the same with the Jello stuff. Buzz offered Jello to provide a perfect backup band and so it happened. I can only imagine how much fun this must have been for the Melvins, and that's why they should continue to do things like that. Comparing those albums to Melvins albums is like comparing Gluey to Bleach, two completely different things.

Conclusion: my least favorite thing the Melvins have done is their fucking website www.melvins.com. It sucks. I love everything about them, but that space doesn't make any sense. They could have made it a bit more user friendly, or make it accessible for their blind fans. Or even the deaf for that matter. They should keep a blog there, and make all their songs available.

Goes without saying but still if I have to choose my least fav it's probably prick. I just don't like it as much as I like other melvins albums.

I've always thought of their website as a form of art. I kind of like the idea of people doing websites as just being these places where you can go and they are sort of like a miniature fun house. That's what I've always gotten from it.

The stuff they did with Jello. The music is great, but Jello's vocals suck arse. Without the vocals, they'd be great albums. So technically there isn't anything Melvins have done that I don't like.
Q: Who else think the Melvins are awful?
A: People with any taste in music

ManWithNoName

My least favorite thing about the melvins is the lack of canadian tours/dates. That being said I understand the situation and what not but it still fucking sucks. I got to see them last year, so it's ok, I can die a happy man but goddamn once is not enough!

Agreed... I have never listened to any track from those albums. Of course you can make an argument about how my least favorite thing could be something I have not heard, but I stand behind my decision.

Ron Maiden

ive listened to Prick maybe once. and that was in my prime of melvin fandom.
i havent listened to more thant 2 seconds of Jello.
melvins.com is dumb.
once i saw them i think it was the tour that Folk IMplosion opened on, they opened with kevin doing this monotonous 2 note bass thing forever dude, i was in a shitty mood, and i just left.  im not saying this is normal behavior but someimtes im stubborn, i swear i waited all night to see them and when they came out with that i fucking said fuck you and left. all pissed at the melvins. so much so that i skipped the tour with tomahawk and later found out how great the set was.

oh well.

It was a stupid conclusion I wrote. Their website makes total sense and is perfect for a band like the Melvins, exactly in the vein of everything they've ever done, using the same approach.

Chomas

gonna have to go with Prick

of course someone will certainly post how much they like it, and how "original" it is

but we all know it pretty much sucks

everything else is gold or better!!!
