Prick > A Senile Animal. Or is that snobbish?
Come on, do you really think (A)SA is that bad?  Or do you like Prick that much?

By the way I think Prick is a part of their discography and, that's fine with me.  It's nice.
I have yet to listen to Sieg Howdy, but I really like Never Breathe What You Can't See.
I like Jellos voice. I know it's polarizing, but the songs are great.  Give it a try.
Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.

Centripetal core of soul sojourn the field vibrates to absolution. I climb toward the sun to breathe the universal.

Have you seen the bridge?  I ain't seen the bridge!  Where's that confounded bridge?!

People are gonna hate this, or say that I don't get it, but in all honesty I don't like:
Prick
most of Honky
The Crybaby
most of The Bootlicker
Melvins/Fantomas
Jello albums
Most of the later day ultra limited singles (most of them are throwaway tracks, not all of them however)

That's fine by me, I know more Melvins fans who don't like a lot of albums. There's a whole lot of people out there who LOVE Gluey, Eggnog, Lysol... that era, and lost track after that.

I think Prick fits more into how I see the Melvins. That, and I think a lot of people who think it's a bad album have never really listened to it, it's obvious it is NOT a joke. It also shows that in a way, the Melvins are a techno band. I should give that a bit more thinking, but especially after Wednesday, when they used several other riffs in one bigger jam, or mix, and the current rehash of other bits of riffs they've already written, and some reconsidering about what techno actually means, or how it was intended to be, lead me to that thought.

When I saw the Melvins in December 2007 in London that was the most beautiful thing I had ever witnessed, and the majority of the songs they played that night were from ASA, but to formulate it simple, (A)SA is by far my least played Melvins album.

i absolutely like  COD  and Prick....especially Prick
i don't really like Millennium Monsterwork cuz the live recording is very bad and  Patton's vocal on the melvins songs in my opinion doesn't work...
i totally love fantomas stuff and obviously the melvin's but together is not the same thing....
remember when i saw them live, the only moment i really enjoyed was when dale buzz and dss played let it all be without fantomas on stage.

You don't get it.

Some of the stuff on Singles 1-12 is completely half-assed.

Except for the jello album mention, and crybaby, and maybe some of prick..and maybe some of bootlicker..you're spot on.   I probably can see/hear what you don't care for on the crybaby and bootlicker.

There's nothing I don't like by the Melvins. It's all great. I will say I enjoy Prick and C.O.D. better than the "solo" albums. Buzz's and Joe's are probably my least faves. Dale's is the best. I freaking love Millenium Monsterworks and I can't wait for the DVD. I don't get the bitching about the sound quality. Sure it's not perfect, but from a 1 to 5 stars, 5 being best, I'd give it a 4 in sound quality. I love what Patton adds to the songs too.

I agree with Singles 1-12, there's ALOT of throw-aways on there.
But,  I think Ggiibbyy is great no matter what they wrote in the booklet.

Really, the only thing that comes to mind for me is maybe the artwork for Electroretard was a little bit too much for me.  I understand it was tounge in cheek and I know that Buzz is a top notch historian and can talk circles around most people in the world with everything that had to do with WW II but...I don't know.  Maybe there was something there I just didn't get.

I guess if I had to choose something that would be it.

Keep in mind we're talking about the single greatest band in the history of music so if the only thing that comes to mind is one piece of artwork, whatever...

Don't get me wrong creep, I liked a few songs on it like Ggiibbyy, I even made mp3s of the
whole CD so I have a copy still. But I sold it for $80 so that was a good deal.

p.s. Electroretard is my favorite Melvins cover art ever!
