so wicked!! the '83 lineup playing the mangled demos with Dale on bass .... someone please film this.
Dude!  Read my posts :)  I will be filming it.
and you WILL be paying for me to join you! :D  :P
Oh, yea.  I'm all over that.  Hang on, gotta go shit out a few more benjamins.   :P

I'd love to see them play Mangled Demos material live.  Dale on bass instead of drums sounds unusual but very cool..
this will be a legendary line up with Mike Dillard.
Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.

Centripetal core of soul sojourn the field vibrates to absolution. I climb toward the sun to breathe the universal.

Have you seen the bridge?  I ain't seen the bridge!  Where's that confounded bridge?!

Yeah, it's been posted, but it's good  to have a thread especially about the fact MELVINS playing THE MANGLED DEMOS with MIKE DILLARD. This is co cool. Who could have hoped for this? I can't wait for a live recording.

What songs are you looking forward mostly? I really hope they will play Walter, I love that song. But also the fast stuff of course, a lot of stuff, no, all of that stuff is pure gold. GOLD!

I knew the info was flying around but this clarifies a bit more.
dates and links to ticket purchase.

to me mangled demos was a low end release.  maybe not totally necessary other than for overbearing fanboy completists like myself.
I've listened to it once or twice at best so I couldn't soundly say I would want to hear this song or that song.

I wonder how much Jelvins material they'll do without kev being part of the mix anymore. also.. when they do play Jelvins material who exactly will be on bass?
another question... will coady and jared be involved in this show at all?

moose

Coady and Jared of the Melvins are recording the new Big Business album in June, so the Jelvins bassist this round will be Andy Coronado (Wrangler Brutes, White Shit, Skull Kontrol)."
Well, we'll always have "In the Air Tonight." Will that be your most enduring song?
You know, that song won't lie down. It just won't go away. I mean, there's a Mike Tyson moment associated with it now. It's just bizarre. I guess it has a bit of mystery, a lot of atmosphere, and the drums coming in, pinning people to the wall.

Dr Geek

I was just about to ask if Dale was involved, but then I read that link and it turns out he's playing bass for the Mangled Demos set. This sounds pretty cool, I hope somebody tapes the show and puts it on youtube or something.

Idlehanz will be filming it if he will manage to make it to the show. I believe he's currently in the process of sorting out tickets, a place to stay, etc. (Yes, I'm watching you, buddy ;))

I'm with ya on that. I've probably only listened to my copy of Mangled Demos three or so times. It's decent, but it's nothing that I am going to listen to all the time. At least I've played it two more times than my copy of Colossus of Destiny
