Very intriguing. After Buzzo's comments about Gift Of Sacrifice and wanting to collaborate with Trevor, i think we all knew that they would end up working on material pretty soon. Im keen to hear more! Im assuming an album is in the works further down the line. Goodness me, all these AmRep 4 track EP's!!

Yessss. How does the Lord of the Flies tracks and this release fit together? Sometimes these EPs will lead to an LP. Well, i guess the Flipper one didn't... and Mudhony and Shitkid... maybe these Dunn tracks are leftovers? didn't Buzz say they had a whole vault of Trevor Dunn tracks? My mind is spinning... in a good way! OMG Melvins have separated me from from so many dollars over the last 3 years lol. I'd better get a night job

I thought they did hint at this back at the beginning of the pandemic. But maybe that was actually hinting at Six Pack.

Anyway, very welcome. I love Trevor's writing so very cool to hear them on equal footing on this one.

I would guess it will be two separate releases - one Melvins the other King Dunn. We know the two original Lord Of The Flies songs will feature on an upcoming Melvins album. So this is no doubt it's own thing.

Apparently there are the leftover Melvins Lite tracks, but Buzz said he was disappointed how his tour with Trevor for 'Gift Of Sacrifice' got abandoned because of the pandemic. He said he was impressed with what Dunn had contributed to that album and he wanted to make a full blown collaboration record with him and then tour on that. So this is probably the start of that thing. I know Trevor was recording with his standup bass with Toshi last year so it's a safe bet to say this is the result.

Not bad really like Sick As A Goat and Dirty Ones & The Poor Dog.

But what this really does is make me yearn even more for another Melvins (Lite) album.

Agreed, although in a way it is the same entity so it feels like it could still be Melvins Lite.

did anyone that bought  the eggnog silk screened ver also successfully add a 'king Dunn' cd to cart? Bc I think it's next to impossible to try and do that the vinyl goes so fast there's barely enough time to get that let alone click on a second product and successfully get through checkout

i've done that before and it's never ended up costing me the purchase of the vinyl, but it does add several layers of stress to the whole process.   :?

Buzz mentions in that Two For The Road chat with Al Jourgensen that in 2023 he plans to undertake a solo acoustic tour with Trevor Dunn. Im assuming the King Dunn record will emerge somewhere then, or towards the end of this year.

I quite like this EP. Especially the second song Sick As A Goat. The second half of that song is fantastic with Dunn's sharp sounding bass playing and Buzzo's vocals. The other two songs remind me of the interlude tracks on Gift Of Sacrifice - short songs that intersperse the main songs. Should there end up being a full King Dunn album i suspect they will feature to break up the songs and add some balance. By the way that final track gives me strong Godspeed You! Black Emperor vibes.

Do you guys think there will still be a KingDunn full length? I was pretty adamant at the time of the first EP and then the second one that it would eventually become a regular album. But now some time seems to have passed and very little word about it. Then there is Trevor saying Buzz and him are working on another album together which effectively i guess passes over this stuff.

I hope that at least they will upload both albums to Bandcamp, obviously not now but someday. The 2 EPs are very good and it would be sad not to see a more reasonable way to get them in the future.

Just been listening to both the KingDunn EP's. You know what, this will be sacrilege but i don't think they are very good. I've liked them before and wished for a proper full length, but listening tonight i just realised i'm not personally much for these EP's. Some of the tracks are even a little (just a little) irritating and not too essential. I think you can tell the songs were not as directed or integrated as much as Gift Of Sacrifice. I always lamented that these releases fell through the cracks and Buzz and Trevor never did anything more serious with them. Yet now i feel it might be for the best. One would think they will work together again at some point though.
