I'll get more in depth as far as sets lists and pictures tomorrow, but it was a really good show. Two sets, about 45 minutes each.
The only merch was the See You in Hell shirt and two variations of the Seattle 25th Anniversary tour poster Buzz designed. One in the colors of the poster, and one black on black. Large and XL only. Nothing else.
I'm exhausted and need sleep.
agreed, great couple of sets, first couple tunes just Buzz and Dale, then joined with the Bib Biz, on fire stuff. Sound was excellent, crowd was a little rough, free drinks, though.....
I'm new here, but I know ilduclo from the Secret Chiefs 3 board...
I have my review, setlist & photos over here:
http://jazzsick.wordpress.com/2009/08/10/melvins2009/
The setlist is from Buzzo's wall, but I'm too much of a Melvins novice to know if anything was missed/swapped out. If you know of any corrections, let me know...

I don't recall Roman Bird Dog being played. I'll have to check the tape tonight to see. Everything else looks right though.
The Dale/Coady fist bump and posing at the end was great :)
I'm just a tad bit leery about the Talking Horse and Bloated Pope without bass... of course when I see them I'll be going apeshit regardless
What's the deal with the two seperate sets? Is it because it alows them to play songs the BB guys don't know/haven't learned yet or is it just because they like it? Or is there another reason?
So they can be their own opening band.

Dunno... the other guys came out at about song #7 (during 1st set).

It was awesome. I love MELVINS in a tiny venue.

always great pix posty!
reason they played 2 sets was it was 225 degrees in the place and they needed a break....
As far as the two sets thing, I'm gonna venture this guess:
they had a 45 minute set worked out with the BB guys to play for the Down tour. That's not enough for a headlining show, so they added the duo stuff from the 25th anniversary tour and threw in a few extra's at the end of that first set to stretch it out since without the few other songs, it would have only been about 22-25 minutes.
I'm d/l pics and getting the set list straightened out right now. I'll have some posted shortly.

I was right next to you for the first few songs of the second set. I'm assuming it was you. I had the camcorder. Left when one of the hippies got in front of me and started blocking my view.
Ok here's the setlist and a slight review:
Buzz and Dale took the stage at 7:30 sharp. John Henry's is very small, but the place was maybe 1/3 full when they started. This pic is from the end of the night, but gives you an idea of the size.

This is a good venue to see a Melvins show, just not a great place to film one. The video isn't that great, but I should be able to pull a couple of songs to post on Youtube. It was pretty damn hot in there, but not near as hot as the Sonic Youth show in Portland a week ago. But shit, twenty four songs! Twas a damn fine show, and was even nicer to get home around midnight due to the early start.
Thanks for the setlist corrections PM, Idlehanz!
All better now...

Ilduclo, I have a CD with all of my source jpegs (no edits) for you. I'm out at a client T to Th, but in the office Friday. Maybe then? If not, I'll be back to Eugene from Moscow, ID, on Aug 31st...
