It's been about 5 years since Kevin ASS got the boot. One might say that when he was around it was the best the band ever sounded. So here's to ya! You slide bass playin, hip shakin asshole!

always loved that shirt. Korny Ass Joker!
This is still my favorite version of Night Goat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kj_7IXVKSmY The dancing makes it better, like everything.
All time favorite bass player.
The Melvins let Kevin in the band because they felt bad for him and his gimpy leg that is one foot shorter than the other. But when Kevin starting hogging all the alcohol from the other members, whoah nelly, they kicked him out.
We all love Kevin. It sucks that he was asked to leave the band, but understandable given his alcoholism at the time. Of all the Melvins bassists, he's the only one I'd love to see come back. It's highly unlikely though.
The Kevin era, was a golden era indeed. :(
So what are the chances of the Cows hitting the reunion circuit now that the Heroine Sheiks are done?

indeed
I would like to know if Buzz and Dale don't play as many Kevin-era songs now because of his huge contribution to the sound.
What would The Fool sound like with two drummers? :-k
I doubt Kevin will ever return.

I originally posted this in the Melvins 3rd Drummer thread where the quote is from, but I figured it's more relevant in the Kevin thread:

Say what you will about ASA and NWB, the new line up is the most powerful live version of the Melvins to date.IMO.
I've still never seen a live lineup as good as when Kevin was still around

That was the G&L SB-2 that I'm guessing had its pickups and hardware harvested for the Shove-It bass. Always knew that those were G&L pickups, but I'd never seen Kevin play a G&L. That must have been just before the Shove It bass (and its orange twin, that lacks the inlay) was built.

It looks as if he aged 30 years between those two pics.
