Title: your Melvins shirts
Post by: PrickHonky on September 20, 2009, 05:56:12 PM
just wanted to see how many Melvins shirts each of you has, even if you don't wear them anymore. I have seen the pics that are on the site and they all look sweet. Right now I only have 8, but I have only been a devotee for 4 years. I've got the new version of the Houdini shirt and Happy Halloween Bitch shirts, the octopus shirt from ASA tour,  Giant Teeth(Melvins/BB tour shirt), white shirt w/ red dragon thing on it, 20 years shirt with dog taking a shit, See You In Hell shirt, and the gold eagle with red logo.

I've only seen one good bootleg Melvins shirt and that was on ebay.

Jello Melvins Halloween '05 (Governator on front/bands & AT logo on back)
Houdini(crappy repress w/ bad ink, print wore after one washing)
Giant Teeth (aSA tour '06),
Dead heads/Dog Island,
the infamous Ipecac '99/'00 NYE one with the midget that lists the Melvins on the back along with Nomeansno, Mr. Bungle, and Kids Of Whitney High.

The only melvins shirt I own is a white tee from the HAT tour, summer '02. It has a little red muumuu devil-smiley face guy shooting a pistol in one hand and holding a cigarette with the other.

It started to wear out, so I had to retire it.

my favorite one (upside down cross w/ happy face & weed leaf & shit) was in the back seat of my car & lost when a cop pulled me over which in turn led to some legal problems & losing car & everything in it.

I'd be interested in hearing someone remix a melvins song with hard hitting heavy dub-bass lines.

sent out money today for Strange Sights...shirt so hopefully I will have it soon. Does it make me a shitty Melvins fan if I buy a bootleg shirt? I know they don't get any money from it so I am really torn on what to do.

What bootleg shirt did you get?  The Strange Sights is legitimate; the melvins have already gotten their money for it, so you're kosher.

I haven't gotten one yet, but there is a Melvins Army shirt on ebay from some cat in Hong Kong. Looks good but it is not the "real McCoy"; more than likely I am not going to.

good time to bump this topic. just bought my first ever Melvins shirt. would've bough one on the last tour, but they had shit for merch.

got this one:

it was way too expensive ordering this from cinderblock, but ive been looking at it for a year and finally said fuck it. at least they shipped it fast. its a nice shirt.

I will pick this one up if they have them on tour this summer:

Cinderblock used to give you a money-off voucher for your next purchase which was cool.

guess they stopped that. oh well. shipping was pretty quick, but it was ridiculously priced. shirt cost almost $28 with shipping. maybe closer to 27. still too expensive.

but I like my shirt, so ill stop bitching.

I think I am down to six melvins shirts and now zero fantomas .

I have :
--- a giant glow in the dark skull crossbones ,
---- glow in the dark message saved mickeymouse club kid with blood dripping ( GF thinks it is creeeeepy )
---- Glowing teeth thing Tour horriblis 2006
----  the octopus jobby .
---Sugar daddy pig jobbie , gonna sell,
---- old grey Melvins bootleg shirt of them rocking out , paid like eight bucks for this thing at some random punk show with a merch booth with some kid selling records,
I still wear it all the time.
I may be missing one or two, but could not be titted to go check at the moment .
Had more but sold em, including a couple of fantomas shirts.
Bought a Mr bungle Hoodie at the Goodbye Sober day show , since I was visiting from Vancouver BC and someone stole my frickin car and all my clothes and sleeping bag
a few hours before the show in the Mission district and I needed something warm. I still love that hoodie........  First time I had ever the fantomas that night too , Wow what an amazing surprise ! , Nomeansno of course is Always a pleasure ...

and looked way better in it than I ever did .

I have a Strange Sights Will Be Seen (near faded to oblivion - I really like wearing that shirt)
One that has a skull and crossbones (not the Singles collection skull)
the Brian Walsby Queen News of the World/Kurt Cobain parody shirt
and Freak Puke album cover shirt.

I've had others in the past but they've gone to t-shirt heaven. May still buy one tomorrow at Bash-13, haven't decided.

No. It was official. But I want to say it was from around the time of Stag.  I could be wrong.  The original "Blue with Red lettering" has just the eyes and "Melvins" on the back.  As someone previously noted, most of their shirts are L and XL.  I'm always pressed to find them in my size of Med.

I thought the Christopher Lee one was put out by Smelly Mustafa when he was working at Boner which makes it older than Stag. I'd say more Bullhead-era.

You're right about the original Blue w/ red lettered version.  It's the Green w/ red that I was referring to.  I know that I got it a few years later than the first one.  I have rarely seen anyone else with the Green.  Like, never.  Until I took the pics, I didn't realize that the image of C. Lee is reversed on the second (Green) one.

I think that C. Lee shirt has been re-pressed quite a few times. I could have sworn I saw it for sale on some tour between 2000-01. Unless it was a tour leftover.

Yeah, no eyes on back.

I want one of those sweet stickers that were in the clown shirt package. Can anyone out there that got a bundle of them maybe spare an extra for lil' ol' JUDY? My Schwinn needs it, real bad. (Schwingggg)

I'm hoping they sell the stickers/buttons separately.

I wonder if it would be worth it to buy the shirt package, and just sell the shirt?

i do not know if there are plans to sell them separately. but haze mentioned that buzz asked for the remaining clown shirts to be sent to the tour. and he also mentioned that amrep plans to reprint clown shirts at a later point. so maybe then we will be able to buy things separately. i just want a shirt and no other thingsy

The clown shirt has a volcom lable on it.

http://www.volcoment.com/ (http://www.volcoment.com/)

I checked this site and found no Melvins stuff.

Volcom also had a booth at the Bash 13 and were making hats.

hows the printing on those clown shirts? is it thick/heavy, or light? hate heavyweight printing on shirts.

thinking of buying one at the show tonight if they have my size.

Made this one based on the limited The End reissue (http://www.discogs.com/Melvins-The-End/release/3305001)'s artwork.
I know it's not really in Melvins' style, but man, THAT FACE.

Does anyone here have an idea of where to get a The Whip shirt from? Since I found the 7" from Wantage I have seen one somewhere with the cover of the record as the graphic.  It's been a long time, and I can't seem to find one now. Please help!
