I'm reading a 1996 Mammoth/Atlantic press release for Stag and the 1996 tours and twice it mentions the upcoming Interstellar Overdrive 7-inch (yes, 7-inch) on Man's Ruin.
Was this ever pressed (even as a test press) as a 7-inch single?
I'm only aware of it as a 10-inch E.P. on purple vinyl:

Does anyone truly know how many were pressed? I originally thought there were 1500 but elsewhere on the net including Discogs it says 5000. It also shows as being released under 2 different catalog numbers here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man's_Ruin_Records_discography

I might be wrong but MR-137 looks like a potential re-release that never saw the light of day. I'm pretty sure there never was an MR-137 in the end. Don't know about the quantities.
I ended up with two copies of Interstellar Overdrive back in the day. One was sold as is, the other one was inside a brand new copy of Stag - sold together for the price of Stag only. I never knew if it was the record shop (Plastic Factory in Birmingham) that did that or if that's how some of them were sold worldwide. My Stag has shrinkwrap on it, but I can't remember if it was sealed with the 10" in or not.

never liked pink floyd and don't care for the cover either.
i dig psych and prog but pink floyd is disgusting. maybe if i was tripping in an elevator with them on the muzak. then maybe i would enjoy them.
otherwise, crappy boring psych for future yuppies.

Yeah! With a trippy interlude for approximately five minutes in the middle. :disagree:

i just don't like pink floyd. im suprised, but kinda not at the responses.
i will say that some of syd's songs are kinda sick and twisted and interstellar overdrive is def a classic acid freak out, but everything after that which involves david gilmour( i really dislike his guitar playing, unimagnative and too normal) is boring, besides the song "Wish You Were Here", which is pretty, heartfelt and my fav song by them while sounding like a Stones ballad.
Ok. Live at Pompeii is decent. great sound a vibe through.
too add to this i love pretty much every cover The Melvins have done including their recent cover of Great Balls of Fire. Kiss, The Ramones, The Beatles and everything else. it's all good.
floyd ruled! roger waters was/is a genius IMHO
That's cool, borislikes. Thanks for bumping these Melvins album threads.

 Remember the Billy Crystal joke, where his daughter asks him "dad, is it true that Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings?".
Wings is Maynard-approved. We know everyone here is a huge Tool.....fan! :P

I recently found one of these in a record store. Asked the clerk about melvins, he said no and when they do it doesn't last very long. 4 min later I pulled it out and he was like I didn't check in singles... You know nothing about my addiction clerk.

why you so offended that i dislike the Floyd?
like i stated, i enjoy some songs but most of it is boring fluff. sorry but the Syd shit might be even worse besides the evil acid killer Interstellar Overdrive. Gnome, Cats and Bikes are not my thing and please don't expand on The Beatles/Kinks nostalgic LSD trip songwise.
thank you.
ps. name me one Floyd album that isn't boring as shit!?! those German Progressive bands from the early 70's did it better though maybe inspired by them, but so what?
the Easy Star All-Stars version of Dark Side of the Moon is groovy and pretty good. :)
anyone heards it? great version of Time!
I have heard it we used to listen to it at work, is very chill. I forgot about it though, thanks for the reminder!
I am in love with Division Bell & Momentary Lapse of Reason. I love the over produced 80's sound and tony levin's fretless bass!
8) i would listen to any Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel or esp King Crimson over pink floyd any day.
message boards and opinions.
You're totally entitled to your horrible opinions on Pink Floyd, borislikes.
We don't have to all like the same stuff. That would, indeed, make this board so boring that
we might as well change it to the Creed and Nicklebag bbs.
I'm just a little mystified by your claim that David Gilmour is the most boring
guitarist of all time. I'm wondering if you've ever picked up one of those things.
If you know what kind of skill and dexterity goes into playing one, halfway decent.
Much less, playing something that hundreds of millions of people flock to for 5 decades.
Is it a bit overplayed? Yes. Can a person like Pink Floyd and still have some
hard core credentials? Worked for the Melvins. At least on one track.

yes meezer. im quite familar with the guitar. since i play it almost everyday. :P

 guitarists unite! Now we focus our wrath on the real enemy, that untalented glen. :P
:)i've been really into jamming the riffs from sheer heart attack lately.
don't get me wrong though. i can rock my own shit.
CHEERS!!!!
