Title: Listening to The Melvins feels like:
Post by: Dr. Grimes on May 26, 2007, 01:29:14 PM
It's like having a sandpaperey, bellowing ogre rub your genitals to violent climax.

Uh...

Depending on the album, it runs the gamut of feelings, except sadness. No sadness involved at all.

Very much like sitting in a junkyard on a moonless night around a hobo campfire whilst both terrifying stories and comical anecdotes are swapped.

I feel glad, happy, positively angry, tense, joyful, impressed, psyched.... Melvins hits a nerve that no other bands has ever hit. Did that make sence?

fart,
you work with carcasses and you turn them into cuts of meat, various products derived
from slicing different tissues and organs. What a crazy job man, tell me what it's like.

after many years of doing it does it become like slicing cheese, or bread
or any other random product? or does it always stay with you that you're
working with the body of a once living creature.

If its, say, (A)SA, then it feels like I'm running alongside a thundering frieght train, I'm barely keeping up but I'm oddly not out of breath.

If its, say, Bullhead or Lysol, then it feels like I'm being slowly crushed by a mossy boulder rolling at 1/48 mph.

I haven`t seen the movie, but the pics are from a sequence of the cult-movie "Battleship Potemkin" (1925), that shows a massacre that in reality did not find place on the Potemkin Stairs, but in a neighbouring street.

During this sequence, you will see a man-woman that Schnabsters been taking stills of:

Here you have the legendary pram scene:

Sick as I am, I find it both scary and somewhat funny. Not the incident, that was tragic, but the faces of the actors, and the theatrical way of falling down.

More or less the whole movie:
