p.s. there's three bars, i'll check all of them.
I want pics up here of Sweet and BHM!
Can't wait for this show. The show they did last November will be hard to top but the Melvs always seem to come through.
im going to this shit yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss....
Don Chente! We thought you were dead!
CHENTE!!!!
not dead....
just kinda busy with other shit ... but never too busy for the melvins.
See you there, Senor Chente!
The Troubadour website says some band called Tweak Bird is playing.
$100 says bUTTHOLEmAN goes incognito and shows face to NO ONE.
no way that ridiculously mysterious lunatic actually faces up to anyone from around here, NO WAY.
matter of fact, I'll eat my hat if someone actually meets bUTTHOLEmAN face to face.
heres a hint though sweet: watch for a fella about say 30ish with a nice camera. I'd say that is your man.

I think 'it' is in its forties.
please no pics of butthole....please.
reviews?
buttholeman sightings?
anything?
Fun must of been had by all if there's still no one awake to review the show.
It's OK.
I will sit here and patiently wait.
Well, I don't know where to start. It was a strange event andI regret to inform you that there were no BHM sitings. :(
That scurvy bastard was no where to be found! I didn't spot Don Chente either. You bastards! I know you saw me there!
The show itself was incredible, but I'm left with a huge void. I don't think they played for more than 1 hr, and it didn't seem like they played every song. There was no grand finale, and the show ended very abrubtly. Almost everyone thought they would be back on stage after a brief intermission, but I knew that wouldn't happen. I went to the Merch table and waited in line. I had been there earlier and worked out a deal with John on a poster and a t-shirt. He said that the "unofficial, but official" posters for the night were sold out already - he said they printed a small batch, 30 or so - for some strange reason they were selling the 1999 Ipecac Binge and Purge show poster instead. I had been wanting that poster for a while now, so I picked that up and the Eggnog shirt for $30. The pussy shirts were already sold out.
After the show we smoked a blunt and went to Mel's Drive-In for breakfast. As we left the venue, I saw Dale's wife buckling in little Scarlet in their mini-van, Moss came out and said bye bye to her. Buzz came out next and got into this Astrovan parked out front with a God Bless America sticker on the back.
This has been a weird adventure. I got home a few hrs ago, I didn't get much sleep, so I'm gonna take a nap.
I hope BHM has a better review, and can tell you more about the setlist, and whatnot.
I concur with the dude above. The show was uh....eeehhhhhh. They rocked it pretty good but it seemed it was just business as usual, no acknowledgment of anyone but themselves being there and they all ran off stage at the end like they were clocking out. But I think I would pay to just see Dale play drums. I got a couple a pics I'll post when I get a chance.
I was perfectly content with the show. I mean, they did just what they said: They played Lysol and Eggnog in their entirety. It wasn't billed as "Eggnog and Lysol and some other things".
the show was good bitches....

Not true- found one other person, but couldn't find Sweet. :( I've got a short video clip coming up; will find someone to host it and then post. Will get a decent review soon as well. I've got pictures of the merchandise; houdini shirt was same as before; eggnog shirt same as old design but with new "brighter" neon-like colours. As for the business-as-usual feeling to the show mentioned by Sweet and chop, it was most noticeable by the crowd's reaction at the end. I've never seen a crowd stick around for that long after a Melvins show in a while. The crowd seemed almost confused; up in the balcony some guy started going through saying 'Everyone Out! Everyone Out!'..

Once again, this board is full of FAGS.

welcome to the club.
So where there any members of tool at this or what?
*When Buzz isn't guest bartending, and Dale isn't spinning records at the Cha Cha Lounge. they've been known to perform music in a band called THE MELVINS (I think they've about 20 or more records out by now). With this in mind, this FRIDAY, JULY 27th, THE MELVINS (with TREVOR DUNN of FANToMAS and Mr. BUNGLE) will be playing at THE TROUBADOUR in Hollywood (California), doing the CDs "LYSOL" and "EGGNOG" in their entirety. Doors open at 8:00 PM. For additional info, please visit www.troubadour.com, but try to stay away from The Melvin's website. Now, it seems like I'm forgetting something... Was it not to mention that some members of Tool might be there?.. Yeah, I think that's it.*
Taken from there website.

I saw Adam Jones and Danny Carey there, but I didn't see Maynard. Unfortunately there weren't any special appearences on stage during the night.

I wonder if Maynard still remembers you?
That was so many yrs ago! I'm sure he meets a lot of ladies, I wouldn't expect him to remember me.
I thought Tool was still on tour. I saw David Yow, boy is he short! He's a nice chap though.

I heard the story: I heard you got all fucked up drunk and bugged moss and schlagel all night.

I hope you're not referring to my 'stealthy shleigel' pics! :x :x :P
nope. just "word on the street". I got my eye on you mister.
Don't get me wrong, the show was top fuckin notch! But I felt so empty afterwards, just like most fans are after a show. I wanted more, I was expecting more (more than an hr at least) and I felt a little bit let down that the show itself was so short. That's my only gripe, oh, and the fact that I didn't get to meet BHM too.
Photos? Photos? Photos? :D
Any shots of the poster? (mechanic wearing a work shirt w/ a Melvin name patch)
I feel like such a tard for not asking someone to pick me up a shirt or poster....... (FUCK!)
Just listened to this show (thanks ninjabachelorparty!) I'm amazed at how tight they are, for not having played this material in so long. At least not all of it. If they did have time to practice it, you know it wasn't much. It's just a testament to how fucking tight they have and always will be. I hope they do this material on the tour. And I will tape it. Hopefully.

I'll take a pick of the poster before I get it framed. They were also selling some kind of a Melvins plastic bear doll thing that looked pretty awesome but not awesome enough to give them fifty bucks for it.

That be the Melvins qee, and for 50$, it was a bargain.

Sorry, the picture's cell phone quality. The Left patch reads Melvin, the right patch is the date and location. Under Melvins it reads Performing Lysol and Eggnog in their Entirety. The signature reads Thanks for the "Good Times"
Thank you, NickP. :)
Does anyone have one of these posters they'd like to trade for one from the SF show?

You're welcome. :D The guy at the merch booth was really awesome. He held the posters for us until the end of the show and then he gave my brother and I a five dollar discount on both posters.

:D Mr. Peabody!! Mr. Peabody!!!
I completely spaced on this one. I picked up an extra poster for the express purpose of trading and I didn't even think about the LA show until I saw the pic of the poster in this thread. D'oh!
