prior to the fall tour I figured it would be nice for us all to dream a little bit. kinda like buying a lottery ticket, you spend two days planning how you're going to spend all that cash. then you get shit on and win NOTHING.
but to me at least MELVINS are a cult band. and a cult band thats been around for 20 some-odd years shouldn't have to be tied to all the staple songs night after night. the bulk of the people who go to a MELVINS show are most-likely familiar with their material so they don't really need a greatest hits retrospective.
so spell out your ideal setlist for this tour. say 15 or so songs. try to be realistic though. no "the OZMA album in its entirety!"s. pick a variety of songs that they might actually play.
ready...... GO!
ozma in its entirety. :D
(some things we just have to get out of the way.)
Whatever they want to play.
but this would be cool:
Hung Bunny/Roman bird dog

What about Stoner Witch?!
you want to hear some Stonerwitch creep? make a list!
so far so good though, you guys got the idea. I see most of you at least tried to make the list realistic.
ooh i like this
..
the fool the meddling idiot!

Black Bock
The Bit

Joan of Arc
Mombius Hibachi
Lovely Butterfly
Okie From Muskogee
A History of Bad Men
Hog Leg

some improvised noise that would lead into...
The Anti-Vermin Seed.
I'm not saying that's a totally realistic setlist but if I had to pick the songs that would be the list

i'd just like to hear the setlist they played here in 1990 without the equipment problems and drugs.
The Fool The Meddling Idiot
Charmicarmicat
Pigs of the Roman Empire
Manky
Bloated Pope
Jerkin Krokus
Noise (from the Barbaraal record)
At the Stake
Eye Flys
Anti Vermin Seed
Honeybucket
Larry
Tipping The Lion
Civilized Worm
Let It All Be
Realisticly I'd like them to play amazon/AMAZON! This was the first song that came to mind when I heard they were going to have two drummers. I'd also love it if they brought back some H.A.T. songs.
Honestly I'll be happy with whatever they play. I've only seen them live once.
Night Goat
Charmicarmicat
Sacrifice
Boris
Lizzy
The Bit
Hooch
Rat Faced Granny
Wispy
Sky Pup
Let it all be
History of Bad Men
History of Drunks
The Talking Horse
Mombius Hibachi

well if oso malo has to be ommitted then
id go for the usual random ending that melvins do so well
id love to see their rendition of "lady in red" again

Noise (from the Barbaraal record)
Damn straight, I forgot to add that one. What an amazing song, so beautiful.
I forgot Exorcism as well.
like an hour version of zodiac.
and with kevin
bac.
-Lovely Butterflies (extended intro just Dale at first, then Coady chimes in about 8 measures in, Jared comes on stage about a minute after followed immediately by the King. They hoist on their axes and without looking at one another start the song at the exact same beat. At the end the song dissolves into noise ala the Electroretard version that segues seamlessly into...)
- The Fool, the Meddling Idiot (which is played at the slower tempo of the "H.A.T." tour version. This ends with the first moment of silence since Dale sat down, just enough time to catch half a breath before)
-Mombius Hibachi
-Hooch
-Let It All Be
-Civilized Worm
-Revolve/We All Love Judy/Brain Center (medley from 02003 tour)
-Wispy (outro drum build-up turns into intro drum build-up of..)
-With Teeth
-Bloated Pope
-Tipping the Lion
-Zodiac
-Let God Be Your Gardener
-Night Goat
-See How Pretty, See How Smart

This sounds good....you put some thought into it.
A freak out noise-a-thon with Merzbow, Nels Cline, Thurston Moore, Sir Dave Stone, and Napalm Death (who need to tour the u.s. asap)
-Roman Dog Bird
-Bitten Into Sympathy
-Night Goat
-Sacrifice (sped up, similar to that of the Melvana 7")
-The Green Manalishi (with the two pronged crown)
-Goose Freight Train
-Euthanasia
-Civilized Worm
-AMAZON (would be great with two drummers)
-Easy As It Was
-Anaconda
-Leeech
-Joan Of Arc
-Little Judas Chongo
-Foaming
-Grinding Process
-With Teeth
I would wet myself hearing that live. Actually, I would probably wet myself if I ever saw the Melvins live anyway.
Night Goat (Houdini Version)
The Man with the Laughing Hand is Dead
Night Goat (Amrep Single Version)
A History of Bad Men
Night Goat (Millennium Monsterwork Version)
Jared Playing THAT riff, solo, for 80 minutes
Night Goat (Noudini Version)
This seems like the kind of obnoxious thing that they might actually do. Having said that, I think Melvins's crowd baiting habits are overstated. This could be good, though.
I think it would be really fun if they just did a bunch of covers one night.

Toadi Acceleratio
The Bit
Pink Bat
Hog Leg
Jerkin Krokus
Over From Under The Excrement
Mechanical Bride
Your Blessened
Mombius Hibachi
Suicide In Progress (dedicated to Owen Wilson)
Honeybucket

Too many to choose from...They have an unbelievable back catalogue songs to choose from but as long as it has:
Claude (Super extended bridge version)
Mombius Hibachi
Hog Leg

no they wouldnt, but they would probably laugh a bit.
how is the weather in britain now?
I haven't a clue, I'm from CA
is it just me or is anyone else pissing their pants in anticipation of the setlist for this tour?
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't slightly dissapointed if it happened to be this setlist:
Melvins set:
With Teeth
Let it All Be
History of Drunks (in double time)
Hog Leg
History of Bad Men
Lovely Butterfly
Lizzie
Civilized Worm
Oven
Set Me Straight
DCH
Sky Pup
Second Coming
Ballod of Dwight Fry (full version, even had Dale doing the "I gotta get outta here!" part briefly)
Night Goat
besides a few choice selections (oven, hog leg, with teeth, etc.) its damn near identical to the last tour.
they could dump Set Me Straight, Sky Pup, Lizzie, Let it All Be and add something from HAT and a couple more from the Ozma/GPT era.

I'm just hoping for some Black Stooges and some Little Judas Chongo. Everything else
is just gravy.
yeah man. the problem is black stooges requires slide bass to be played properly.
and we got no more slide bass. :(

Oh yeah.
well, let us see...from what they have been doing until now, i figure them to play at least the following:
would love to see as the opener while adding the melvins (but prbly not)
lovely butterfly (figure they will mix up the changing of the bands song)
talking horse (it is the "single")
bloated pope (fits really good after TH)
lizzy (perhaps)
civilized worm (could do w/o, but they seem to like playing it quite a bit)
suicide in progress (new song that was not played on the US tour last time)
sky pup (blah)
let it all be (as much as i am tired of hearing this, i can't imagine them not doing it)
2-3 shorter songs from aSA here
a history of bad men (one of the best songs from aSA)
the mechanical bride (another one they didn't play on the US tour last time - good chance we will get it this time)
night goat (to replace the bit or, if we are lucky, we get both)
ballad of dwight fry (again, not played on last US tour)
now, that makes for a bit of a short setlist but are songs i feel sure they will play. i am hoping they drop a quite a few of the aSA tunes from this leg. with it being just BB and The Melvins, i hope they put on a longer set than ~70mins and go for the 90 min mark, which would put BB at about 2hr 15min for stage time (quite a bit to do night after night).
additions that i would prefer to see:
joan of arc
at the stake
blessened
the bloat
#2 pencil
hag me
youth of america
at a crawl
june bug
but, above all others....
Manky
peace,
ts
