It's been years coming people, it's time we cut the shit and put this tribute together, whether we can find a label or not.
The way I see it, it should be completed by the end of the year, provided that someone here is able to compile everything.
Each snivleM song should only be covered once, and one song per artist (to avoid a million song tracklist, yes I know it's tempting)
EDIT: After some consideration, Love Canal may be better off for a Flipper tribute. I'll stick with Heater Moves And Eyes.

QuoteDIBS ON LOVE CANAL!!
You might have to pick a Melvins original if you were doing a tribute album. Love Canal is a Flipper song...sorry if you already knew that. I don't mean be to one of THOSE guys.
As far as compilations go 'We Reach' wasn't THAT bad. I've heard worse. But yeah, not that good either. I think I've listened to it like, once or twice. It gathers dust on a shelf....

Yeah I know, but Love Canal has grown to become one of my favourite Melvins songs, and I am sure many of you can relate (eg. YOA, Sacrifice, The Green Manalishi, Ballad of Dwight Fry - may be covers but can still be viewed upon as legendary Melvins tunes.)
Oh, and I also found We Reach to be a bit of a disappointment (I cried when Pincer 2 destroyed Don't Piece Me), so I figured that we should attempt to succeed where they fucked up. Just my two cents.
Contributing Over From Under the Excrement somehow would be sweet.
I have a live live version of A History of Bad Men I'll submit.
Now that i've got all my recording stuff up and running again i'll try to contribute something. I recorded a version of Black Bock awhile ago but it sucked bad. I'll think of a song to do and post here.

great idea !

There's been one successful attempt at the fan level; around 98 (?) a few bands put out a cd / made a page with downloadable mp3s. I'll see if its still around. A cd was professionally burned ( I think?) and a few copies were given to the band. Chanting of the Priests?

if my band wont do this, since im the only member who likes the melvins, i can play bass or drum on a track if anyone in new york needs it.

A few years ago I recorded an instrumental cover of "Let It All Be."

Yes. I have a copy of this. There are Melvins covers mixed with original material.
It seemed to be made up of mostly East coast bands. Brian said that Melvins List members put it togeather. I will scan the cover and post it here later, that will give everyone the true information. I can't remember what year it came out.
Don't let Melvins-l out-do Melvins.net!
There's actually some good stuff on it. At the time no one here at the BBS paid any attention to it. Some melvins.net BBS members were outright mad: "Why would I want to listen to a cover of my favorite band when I can hear the original". Or something to that effect.

too late? ha! I have no clue as to when this is all coming out. Besides, I know how horrific the organisational process of recording music in an loose-knit imdependant band is. Hell, that's why i'm doing Heater Moves And Eyes on my own (although getting the drums done adequately is a bitch. As Hank Hill wisely said: "Damn it, Dale...)
@ GrimReaper: I wish your son luck. Knowing the Melvins legacy lives on in the hearts of today's youngsters warms my heart, although I myself am only 17. Bah.
It's never too late!! Remember the first melvins.net t-shirt took over 2 years,
and vinney's interview is still out there in the ether 4 years later, so fear not!
im gonna try and record Vile today
the second part, particularly the drums are gonna be a bitch to record/remember, guess ill hafta kinda improvise that
we'll see how this will go
... depends on the amount of weed ill have i guess
I still can't even decide which song to do. I'm thinking maybe skinhorse. I also don't really want to do a straight up cover but i know it will probally turn out that way.
Talked to my buddy tonight about recording. Soonest we can get together is the middle of next month. We're throwing around different songs than Scared. Night Goat, Snake Appeal, and Matt-Alec came to mind. Whatever we do, it won't be what someone else has taken. I'll try to keep this thread updated as to what we choose.

Maybe from here on it, we figure out who is going to pay for this cd. Then, we send in our covers anomalously to that person. When everything is in, there's a vote, here on the board.
A cd holds 80 minutes, so it will still get a lot of people on there. Those who don't make it, go to the website. Might be more trouble than it's worth, but it's an idea.

Maybe we could have the tracks as downloads from a website (as already mentioned by others) and the art as a pdf file or something. Just a thought.

Sometimes they had multiple contributions to the artwork which I felt was nice because they kept them all.
That's exactly it!! We provide a cover download and the songs, then people can rip their own CD.
It's not as collectable as a short-run, but it would get the job done in a cost-effective manner.

After a small delay due to jingle bells, I got some over-nighted, and finally finished "Toy."
i'd love to do something - i'll try to do Judy. seee what i can come up with.
edit: i actually ended up doing Gluey Porch Treatments. it doesn't sound a whole lot like the original and it's kinda noisy, but I did it if you still want it :p
edit 2: disregard that. i'll try making a real version sometime, but this mix sounds horrenous.
Hmmm...
Yeah, forgot all about this one.
I'll get on it this week and let you know when I finish something. Choice of Melvins tune subject to change w/o notice.
Last time this idea was bantered around...I got a SF Bay Area metal band called Blitzenhamer to cover Revolve/Shitstorm. I recorded/engineered it.

And it's great.
My son for some reason does not want to sing.
I wonder if Buzz ever had this problem.
I am going to ask Bad Ronald to sing Queen.
My brother is going to do Black Bock off of Stag.
If someone has some mentorship skills PM me. This is where the mentorship needs to be applied: he has his own music, expresses how it need to be accomplished, wants to sing the lyric himself, but will not do it.

Same here.
Talked with Dead cowboy. He's letting me steal Let It All Be from him. Will be recording in two weeks.
I've been working on Dead Wipe for the last few days. I had to change up some of the drums parts because i'm hopeless but i'm getting there with it. Should hopefully have all the music parts recorded by the end of the week and then i'll get the vocals done when i can.
We finally recorded Wispy. And here it is...

Nice one MAR!
I've just got to re record the solo and do the vocals for Dead Wipe. And then the mix and it's done. I got heaps done yesterday on it.

Will this be a "Melvins songs only" sampler or should everyone contribute an own song like on chanting of the priests ?

I was thinking along the lines of a "pure" tribute (only covers of that band), like We Reach, except with better covers done (I never want to hear Echohead/DPM destroyed like that ever again!!).
I'm still gonna push for a website that has all the covers, plus originals from the bands that did the covers. And then vote on the board what should make the cd. I want to hear everyones contributions. and their original stuff!

I was under the impression Grohl only did the talking/drums. If he did the guitar there's really no explanation as to why the Foo Fighters suck so much.
But according to the wiki the song appeared 2 years prior on a demo Grohl did and all the music was played by him. Maybe Buzz actually contributed the guitar to that song on the demo and Grohl just never bothered to mention it?
Remove me from the list! I really haven't made any plans yet actually. I know a few people with who I could do this, but I really don't know if or when that would happen. If I would contribute anything, it should be decent and worthy. I'm jamming with Rembrandt and Kurva on Tuesday, and we're gonna do some Melvins covers no doubt and we will record the jam as well, but I'm not sure what the end result will be like! We have no plans really except for YOA and maybe Anaconda and Leech as well among some other stuff.
My choices for a cover would be Over From Under The Excrement or Heaviness Of The Load, or Echohead/Don't Piece Me if I could pull that off, but when that's ever gonna happen, I don't know. Excusez moi!
I would love to join in on this fun activity but other people to play with that are actually a bit talented are hard to come by. and i dont have a 4 track.
Someone should do the opener to lysol.

what happened?
*been under a rock*
I don't know, but yes, they were supposed to be on it! Jesus. that I remember that! And why did you bring that up here?
Finally got the vocals and solo done for my track. Just got to mix it now.
I'm in the same boat as Uncle Fester. I have a guitar/amp and can play decently (enough to cover certain Melvins songs at least) and achieve a good enough quality recording, but don't know anybody that plays bass or drums or even anybody who has a bass or drumkit.
Anybody that plays music around here just does crappy Misfits covers.
maybe some collaboration over the internet could work. We have a four track in our practice room (on which we did the wispy cover) so if somebody needs a drum part i could help out...
Got back from recording Night Goat this weekend. I didn't notice that Armo's buddy wanted to do it, so I'm waiting for word back from him if his friend is still doing it. Obviously, I'm hoping not, but if he is then I'm not sure what to do except post it when it's mixed down just for shits and giggles.
I'm happy with how ours turned out. Recorded to 8 track, mixed down to a 4 and added some extra things. Total of 1 bass track, 1 drum track, 2 vocal tracks, 2 guitar tracks, and some overdubs. We mixed the drums down through an equalizer, and added some reverb. Used two different guitars and different rigs for those parts, and the bass was run through a Turbo Rat for some nice distortion.
Oh, and we recorded the vocals IN the Mel-van :)
Here's some pics from yesterday.

Ha, no. They belonged to Benn, the guy with the old Melvins shirt on.
We partied in that van for years. It needs a good scrubbin' inside.
Yea, we thought recording in there was make for a good story, and it turned out it made great acoustics for the vocals.

My buddy is doing the final mix, but I won't be back home to get the tape from him for a few weeks. Then I have to remember how to run my 4 track into the computer and record it. I know it can be done because I've done it before, just gonna be a trial and error process. Should be easy though.
is buzz using a drop B tuning on any of those tracks from the maggot?
sorry i tried posting a longer reply but i had 404 errors and whatnot
that is deliciously awesome!
Hey Hanz, i have a 4 track exactly the same. I actually used it as a mixer for some of the parts in my track.
Well, i found it interesting anyway.
Night Goat cover recorded in the Melvan... that's more than epic, and I can bet the small space adds a certain echoey being-in-a-van type effect to the vocals.
I don't even have a 4 track or anything... just a relatively suitable studio mic hooked up to a preamp and then my PC that I put right next to my amp. There's not very much outside noise that gets in, and I think it sounds relatively good for such a ghetto rig.
Now if I could play better. I have a friend who's an accomplished guitarist but he's kind of a drifter and hard to get ahold. Next time I see him I'll force him to learn some Melvins songs and put some guitar recordings up.

I think at the very most he MAY have had a hand in remixing it. It's certainly the same track as the Late/Pocketwatch demos.

him so we should have something streamed to you by Sat. or Sun. Also,
he said he would help me get those oh so sweet sounds of the Melvan on

PausedDigitzzzzzzzzzzzzzz........
Do you really think we should put those ohh so sweet, Harmoniuosly
sounds of the Melvan in the song? It does have a nice couple of Bursts of
pure thunder! Did you know that we drove that van the wrong way up
and down the main stretch in Aberdeen one late summer night in '92??
That was awesome, we didn't caught...... 777
I accidently recorded over the first 30-40 seconds of our track.
Good thing I made a back up! All ya should be able to sample these
oh so sweet sounds by Sunday, weather permitting.. The sample of the
Melvan running sounds really good if your turn your low E.Q. up and
listen to it at about 75% max volume!
I want to know if we finish up the goat...will i get karmic points for that?
King of D and I just finished up with the "NIGHTGOAT"!
He has to do some final mixing and it should be up soon....

my computer speakers might be farting out, or is the sound quality suppose to be that bad? i know it says "nasty mix" but it just drops in and out a few times, plus you can really hear the bass that well at all.
now with all that being said it's much better than i could ever do. and i love the vocals, whoever is singing sounds great. and the drumming is pretty spot on! the feed backing guitar is very nice as well.
good job!
it's just the right amount of lo-fi, like a swans version of nightgoat or a cramps version.
very atmospheric and dirge-like in the end. love the spoken bits and the laughter alot,

listening to the nasty(?) mix now. love the vocals a lot. the first thing that got my attention was how low the bass intro is in the mix. but i'm glad you guys did this. its great. inspiring me to get my ass on Sweet Willy Rollbar.
nice job boys.
Hey thanks! I constructed what I refer to as a Bass Cave. I took two
4'x4' pieces of particle board and made a "V" or triangle off of the bass
rig. Then I put the mic stand right at the apex of that "V". Covered it
all up with sleeping bags and blankets. The only problem, was that we
had the amp cranked up too loud, so we had to keep it low in the mix to
avoid clipping and a great big,fat headache of a signal. There were a lot
of really strange occurances that took place while we recorded this track!!

you guys keep bringing up that straannggee shit went down... unless i missed a post.. i dont think i ever read what was so strange about it.
is there like a cobain spirit bouncing about in the van murmuring in those dark spooky nights
"I didnt kill myself....I didnt kiiiiillll myyyselfffff!"?
or maybe there was the ghost of El Duce who wanted to kill you?
well some of the wierdness was strange crashes coming from throughout the house , stuff falling of the walls that have never fallen before, dead animals that have never shown up before , weird electrical problems like things shutting off, and then not working and then working again....when you got the felling like some bad juju is happening you kind of just roll with it and dont question ....lest something even worse happens....
Not to mention my Pioneer surround sound reciever just catching on fire
when I turned the power on to do a rough mix all alone. Or how about those
transmissions we were picking up through the headphones? Those were a bit
strange, seeing is that that has never occurred before in the basement and I
have been recording down there for roughly sixteen years!

Let's have a listen, this is still a joint effort if everyone's not lost interest.
Also I might put vocals on myself if you wanted me to have a go... if I had a working microphone.
The hopelessness of themelvins.net members tribute album strikes again!
i feel shitty now. maybe i get wsorking on . probably in two weeks i'll be able to finish it. i wont be able to record until then.
good lad! that's the spirit.
This is going to be "special". And maybe a bit creepy.
I'm glad someone got this running again. Thanks Green Honey.

The way I remember it, we asked you to contribute drums to our cover of Roman Bird Dog. You agreed saying you were also working on your own cover (but you wouldn't tell us what song it was). Then your PC fucked up and you pulled out saying you couldn't record anymore and that if you got your equipment working again you would let us know, and that we should just try to find someone else.
Isn't that what happened. You never mentioned you were working on the same song when we asked you to contribute. You also told us to go find another drummer when your PC messed up.
Personally It doesn't bother me if there are 2 different versions of this cover.
ididnt record that song tommyhc, but it did bother me that i never heard anything back like "thanks anyways, or too bad about your computer. nothing. so that bothered me.
i hope your guys song turns out great. its a great song so go 100% on it.
as far as that list greenhoney- i was gonna do Sweet Willy Rollbar but change my mind. Something slower.
I was thinking how fun it has been working on this and i'm probably gonna do more. but for now i have to finish the first one.
We did Night Goat instead of Scared.

I thanked you many times for your effort and time during the process. I praised you on taking charge and how determined and enthusiastic you were. After your PC crapped out, I guess I was just bummed because everything looked so promising. I thought I sent a message back saying that sucks, and thanking you. Since It seems I didnt, let me take this opportunity to thank you and everyone who took time out of their lives and put effort to try and help us out on this cover.
Armofinfant
Captain Pungent (Whose PC also crapped out)

Armofinfant, hopefully you aren't sour from this man. And I'm looking forward to hearing your cover.
Yep, well said. And I agree, we really appreciated your effort Armo, and like you probably read in my PM, I did respond after I heard the bad news. Maybe you didn't receive the email or something. But it's all good now. Peace.

im gonna try to record a layer for that one this weekend and possibly a vocal. i can't sing with people in the house. you'd most likely hear the pitter patter of a 4 year old running upstairs in the mix. which might be workable with a little distortion.
i found a way to convert an itune to wave. i found it on google. just type "how to convert...." if anyone needs this i can copy and paste it but it worked for me.

Lovely Butterfly isn't finished yet. There's a few test mixes sent back and forth but no final mix has been done. for that track , as of right now, i contributed Vocals and Keyboard. But who knows the final mix might not include me. As of right now I Am The Sun has my individual files and were waiting on him to mix it.
You don't have to put my name either.
I think there should be liner notes with our own website and contact addresses.
Shit i was also calling Green tomarba "martians" cuz "MAR's" involvement. As far as the butterfly track i have no clue. I don't feel like i'm involved enough to say. I kinda jumped on board really late in the program.

Was I kicked off? I have kind of forgotten about this tribute because I recorded my track in 2006. I'd still like to hear this though.
I just personally thought that the vocalist completely ruined your song, which was otherwise done quite well imho.
The above list is just my personal attempt at a possible running order.
...May be a good idea to have a poll for this?
May God have mercy on us all.
?
Isn't this supposed to be a downloadable release anyway? I don't see the need to kick anyone off. People can't delete the files they don't like.

Incase this issue hasn't came up but would everyone please send a link to a an uploaded Wave file of your track to Green Honey? Green, you want waves right? atleast high quality mp3's. i'd want the listener to have the highest quality file for my track.
If possible, yes please.
Do you really want a WAV? I'll try and get one to you, but with my computer being broken and all might take a bit.

It's ok, mp3 is fine (ideally over 192 kbps).
I have the mp3's of the tracks from Myspace and they'll do if not.

I don't have the right to decide on my own...(poll?)
Sorry I couldn't fit everything in on my version of the album, I don't want to piss on anyone's parade.
It's all about the quality/running order to me. Not easy.
Would it be possible (if you wanted) for you to make it an instrumental or replace the vocals? That'd be great. imho.
But whether or not this ends up being on the tribute (which depends on what people decide they want), the song is and will still be there on Myspace, anyway.
That probably makes me sound like a total c*nt. But I probably am.

Dude, I'm not telling you how to sing on your tracks so don't tell me to replace the vocals on mine. It doesn't matter what I do anyway because it's not going to compare to the original. The vocals and lack of guitar on mine make it stand out a bit more. Plus some people commented that they actually liked the vocals. Maybe they were full of shit but either way it's just a cover song from an unsigned band, like everything on this "release". It's suppose to be fun! I could do a perfect clone of Brain Center at Whipples and everyone would still rather hear the Melvins version so don't worry about it.
I'm not trying to gang up or be mean. Nor am i saying that my track is any good.
But if i was the band on Seas of Luck's track and he did the vocals like that i'd feel a lil let down.
but i have to say its much better than Queen. That one sounds to me like they ran through it maybe once or twice and then hit record. Not the vocals though i think are some of the best of this whole collection, but come on. at the 2:30 mark the band kinda falls apart. I want to take that fucking Piccolo snare and throw it at Goldfinger, where ever they are now.
if you want to attack me thats fine but i'm just giving my opinion.
no one can fuck with Eponymous as far as i'm concerned on this collection.
also, should this thing be mastered somehow so all the track are close in volume? how seroius are we talking here?
Just put the thing out, good, bad,ugly....warts & all. If you don't like a track, skip it. If you gonna put it out as a digital/mp3 type of thing, then make the individual tracks available & pick the ones you like. All of you love the Melvins, this thing is in tribute to the Melvins, right? So, maybe the hyper
critical editing process going on here is kind of against the spirit of the project, I'm just sayin'........plus, not everyone has the same amount of experience recording music.....

Yes, I'm no mastering expert however.
I'm taking it seriously enough in terms of doing the songs of the Melvins justice, without taking ourselves too seriously.
Should I just post the tracks that are ready now, in no particular order? Or wait till the songs are album-ready? Or both?

There's been one successful attempt at the fan level; around 98 (?) a few bands put out a cd / made a page with downloadable mp3s. I'll see if its still around. A cd was professionally burned ( I think?) and a few copies were given to the band. Chanting of the Priests?
Quote from: GrimReaper on January 27, 2008, 05:21:17 AM
Yes. I have a copy of this. There are Melvins covers mixed with original material.
It seemed to be made up of mostly East coast bands. Brian said that Melvins List members put it together.
I will scan the cover and post it here later, that will give everyone the true information. I can't remember what year it came out.
Don't let Melvins-l out-do Melvins.net!

Here's a temporary link of an alternate version of the Lovely Butterfly. It's a collaboration that I joined into late in the game with I Am The Sun and Green Honey. Unfortunately the three of us couldn't all agree on a single version so here's the version I prefer.
Lovely Butterfly Version B
https://download.yousendit.com/Y1RyeEVVdGpRR2V4dnc9PQ
I provided the vocals in the center, a keyboard part, and some low end rumbles. Any questions about other sounds contact the other players.
There's a chance that a third version may arise. The one on the collection would be Green Honeys pick, Me and IATS agreed on this one except IATS also did an extended noise part after the song that i cut from this version.
Let us know what you think,

I like this version better than the first one. In the first one, the vocals sound more muffled, and it seems like they're a bit quieter than the B version.
I'm curious what it would sound like with clean vocals (unprocessed/unreverbed/whatever was used)..
Well done.

I don't have the files. But Here's my contribution under the name Armofinfant. i also did some background vocals and low end noise on Lovely Butterfly with some dudes from here. SO for that guy that posted about doing multiple tracks you could at least collab with others .

This is probably one of the best one's I've heard so far.
armo's tune and the oven track were killer. also liked grim jr's track
my track; Theresa Screams was a bit of a throwaway, I would take things more
serious if we did another one.
thanks dudes.
id probably pick something off stoner witch if we did it again.
It's official. Tribute III has begun. Someone get some artwork going.

My son is getting a song ready with his new band (Not named yet, first show May 2 in Capital Hill).
I´ve waited for this!
Can I contribute a thing, too?
Serious question, will I get kicked off again if the organizer doesn't like my track? There are quite a few songs I've been wanting to cover but I don't want to waste my time just to get kicked off.
I did a mash up of Wild Thing by Tone Loc and Let It All Be, shared it on here a while ago but I don't think anyone cared.

I would imagine you're allowed to cover whatever you want. I think it would be lame to exclude songs that were already covered imo.

But you have to be tolerant with the drum sound. I can only use an Audix (some kind of shure sm57-ish) mic and a shure sm58 for the bassdrum :)
if that´s no problem, just tell me what song you want me to play :)

Cover any song you want and no one will be excluded who contributes to Tribute III.
Tribute II trivia: Bionic Anchovy did the vocals on Queen and he lives in New Zealand the rest was recorded in Washington State. Collaborations with other members is encouraged!

I hereby throw my name in the H.A.T.
I'll submit an acoustic number.
Think of it as a teaser.

Cover art.
I need inputs. April 13 is the deadline to keep this moving along!
Post them here so we can critique everything.
Every input will be included on the Tribute III as an attachment so everyone put in a good cover to vote on,
How about Tribute cubed to mix it up? T3
thank you meezer!:)
If anyone wants me to play drums (or guitar) for him or her, tell me!
is it allowed to contribute two covers or is everyone only allowed to submit one?

Well, we´ve got two tracks ready to go...except at the stake on which i messed up the last part in things of speed.
we´re going to record one more take tomorrow.
where should i send the tracks?:)
Whats the Deadline, I want to Either Do a cover of Boris (but sped up to *normal* speed so you can hear that its Just a Regular Old thrash metal tune)
OR:
a Bluegrass Version Of Mombius Hibachi.
Or a Really heavied up Version of Foaming with loads of Noise and Ambiance at the end instead of being creepy and choppy Do it Full on straight up Loud Doom instead of how the Melvins Made it melvins.
PS. Judy, those are cool Antlers...whered you get em!

Ummmm...no. No way. That song is 9:41 of classic Melvinsy goodness. A great way to end (what was in my opinion) one of their best releases.
I think it would be great if you covered it.
ok yeah i thought the same thing... but the way they worded the comment about mine probably being better i assumed it was a low blow to the song hahahahahaha but ill just take it as a compliment lolol
Sorry kid. I love the song. Can't wait to hear your version. With any kind of bass. Just knew that Ian would take the bait on that, after citing it as a disliked song for years. :D

We could really make our own, though? :-s
Of course :-s :-s :-s
Just another option as my way of contributing
my lady does great art so itd be cool if she made something for my song and it made it on :)

Yeah, man. The dream is to have variant covers so that would be most fitting! Now, go record Tommy going berzerk!

Zombie Roger Daltrey for a rock opera Tommy Goes Berzerk! My two cents.

hmm. this actually gives me the idea to do it almost like an orchestral thing... but idk i may be getting ahead of myself here haha
im trying to get in contact with my middle school band teacher cause i played string bass in band and if that works out, id like to take advantage of all the instruments i can there. including a gong and the long tall church bells and many other cool things...
it would almost be like an arrangement
like itd still be similar to the original cause idk thats the way i roll haha but like the begining with the string bass intro stuff, like i could see a lot of concert band stuff in there like the huge ass bass drum and gong and concert cymbals and stuff like that just kinda subtly added in the background in places.
i wish i knew how to play brass and wind instruments
ALRIGHT!!! its fucking settled!!!! my old band instructor said the next time hell be in is aug 5 and to contact him and hell give me directions to the new room (apparently the school was remodeled lol)
so it wont be done till aug 5th or so but i think i can do the rest in the mean time and just go in for a day or maybe two and get the bass and extras done then :)
Alright i finished up skin horse today, may as well use it too if everybody likes it

Sorry dude. I didn't see that. I would love to, but it would have to go after At The Stake.
I'm supposed to get some time today to set up my stuff and record. :?

I might be interested
I'm currently getting ready to start working on tommy goes berserk and since I found a bass I may attempt worm farm waltz while I'm there so I'll have my hands a little full but I could probably help with drunken baby
These were posted on the bbs before, think they all deserve another listen ;0)

Way back I had two myspace pages with songs on them, but I have no clue what the passwords are now.
Here's the pages, though I can't get the music to play.

1st link is broken. The Wheelfall one is painfully boring. The last two links are really good though!

Music played ok for me
myspace is a train wreck though haha
Weird. Tried it in Chrome and it plays fine.
Couldn't open the Bayer radio show in Safari either.
Must need to update something but I have no idea what.
And another weekend with no progress. ](*,)

Well, that was fun to listen to :D 01:20-1:35ish, ha!!
I love a good cover that can do it justice while taking off on its own spin. Was this recorded by a bbs member or just a random find?
wasnt this the cover that ended up on the facebook page??

YES!!! This is awesome! Exactly how a cover song should be. Totally different. Whatta weird and twisted song. Love it.

Yup, the guy posted it here and it was given the stamp of Melvins approval

You wanna sing on it?
Thanks for kicking me square in the nuts on this, guys. I definitely needed that.
I set up ye olde Yamaha 8-track last night and re-recorded the bass on the synth version.
I'm set up to re-record the vocals on the folk rock version when the rest of the family gets up.
Hate to let you down like that, drumfreak.
Only been 6 months since you promptly recorded your shit and sent it my way.
no prob meez ;)
I´m just excited about it but right now I have some other stuff to do than complaining over this (look in the whaddaya look like thread) so it´s alright :)
i can sing on it too!
I can try to upload the instrumental track on dropbox and send it to folks who want to sing. I cloned the whole song on top of the Melvins album version (as you know). Anyone who would sing on that track wouldn't have Buzz's vocals to follow. I'm not feeling like such a good musician lately, so that would feel like working without a safety net for me. You and gold nugget would have a much easier time doing that than I would. :D
I'm down to try no promises it'll be good lolol
side note, marcus I just remembered you sent me. a drum track to add to...I haven't done any recording really since skin horse. I need to get with the program!
Nice. I couldn't do anything with that King Buzzo track. I can't learn and play a whole song without said safety net. ](*,)
*great drum track for another project, though...
I'm guessing he just played the track and drummed to it so it would probably work to play to the track and hope it lines up perfectly with the drum track. at least that's the plan... if it doesn't work, I'll just send him my half and let him drum to it
When he sent me At The Stake, I just asked him to give me drums on left channel/ the version off the CD on the right. Made it super easy to clone each part. Once I had more than 2 instruments recorded on the 8 track, I could turn down the fader on the Melvins track and see how my arrangement (or instrumentation and performance) was shaping up. I had to scratch a few takes because they just couldn't even be loosely interpretated as a Melvins song. We'll see how people like it. The vocoder track is incredible, if I do say so myself. :-"
I can't believe I've never used that feature before on a song. #-o
all my stuff is just DAW stuff so I can just import the song as a track if I want and mute it as necessary
