Title: melvins booking?
Post by: Boo on May 08, 2008, 10:48:00 PM
I figured that they're probably going through the stages of arranging the tour right about now....I met buzz a couple times last year and each time mentioned that they should play here in Chico, Ca...they did in 02 but that was before I lived here. He said it was a cool place and started talking about doing an album at the beginning of the year then we'll see what happens.....soooo....

any idea how to send hate mail directly to the melvins if they don't play at a BBQ at my house??

well the last line was sarcastic.
I don't expect them to play at my house, There's 2 theatres and 4 or 5 bars that do shows right near my house, one of which the melvins have played before....so I figured the best time to bug them would be during booking, which I assume is going on now, right?

So one of you stalking bastards give me buzz's phone number/SSN/address/blood type/shoe size or something.....

REACT!

I'd be willing to bet most of the tour is booked already.  But if your really that insistent, contact Moss.  Just don't ask me for his info, I don't have it.

If I was trying to book the melvins, I'd get in contact with their management, and have a list of local venues that would accommodate them, traveling costs, equipment shipping costs..etc.  I doubt the money part is the problem, but..I wouldnt post inquiries through a fan forum.  They probably get a lot of inquiries, "I'd pay you loads of money, etc.."..but until it looks like a serious deal, they'll just ignore it.   Maybe talk to a local booker about tips, or just get into contact with the management.

try finding mackie on myspace. or message timmy moss, as suggested earlier. be ready to cut off some jack to show them you're serious. back in 97, i remember they commanded about a grand a gig opening for helmet, so that could give you some idea of what it'll take. good luck!

I'm actually very interested in what it would say.  I imagine it's pretty bare bones compared to "No brown m & m's"  and shit like that.

QuoteIt hasn't been a year since the last bona fide Melvins album but nonetheless, slated for release is yet another album... However, this here new one is actually a RE-release of the classic Melvins record "10 songs". Of course the NEW one has a NEW super deluxe cover and has been expanded to 26 songs. That's 16 more than the original! The record even includes a secret recording of one of their hometown buddies out of his mind on Angel Dust. This added historical window should fully explain their origin and current message in a way never before captured on record. Even if this reissue is 16 years old you can rest assured this record is up to date! If you get this record you can know there is nothin' or nobody ahead of you. Nobody knows nothin' that you don't know. All the cards are on the table friends and that's a fact!

Dang! It's been damn near 20 years since these Melvins started and they still have yet to find the common decency to die or break up. The core-band of King Buzzo and Dale remains intact and they've had the same bass player since 1998! Hailing from the Minneapolis Cows is pioneering slide bass pervert Kevin "Rutmanis". The Melvins proclaim this lineup the definitive whatever you want to call it of whatever it is they think they do. Nothing should be denied them forever more.

The William Morris Agency needs to update their profile. Funny that they have a pic of the new lineup with this profile. :|
