GAMH San Francisco
Two shows June 16th and 17th. Mangled Demos, can you dig it. :o

Wow. I wonder if Dillard will be there.
I wish I could make it.
Edit that. I'm gonna try to make it. Time to check some prices.
edit edit $219 round trip? I'll be there.
Damn GAMH website says you can get tix from them online, then gives you nothing to click to actually buy them. WTF?
oooooooo!!!!!! think of the new songs they'll add to the set this year!
There's a pdf file you can use:
http://www.gamh.com/tickets/fax%20order%20gamh.pdf
lucky west coasters
Goddamn this band rules.
To open the shows, the Melvins reach back to their original
sweet! one last west coast melvins before we leave!
Are there any cheap hotels next to the venue?
EDIT I've found a few, but everyone one of them has terrible reviews for smelling like piss and being in a terrible neighborhood. I'm all for adventure, but I would like someplace safe to stay. Shitty shit.
too bad i already flew to SF last year, this would be a good one to catch. the new biafra band sounds like it'll be pretty good. why do they always book these things when jared and coady are doing BB related things though?
Great! I hope someone will record this.

yeah, but for the other sets i mean...

Hmm, never heard of that guy. I hope they will add some Mangled demos songs to their set list on the upcoming tour
although I don't think they will. (by the way, Big Biz will be recording in June, fuck yes!)
If you get to film the show, that would be really fucking great Idle. :D

It looks like I will be going. I know the GAMH allows filming as long as the band does, so it shouldn't be a problem.
I'd like to see some of those songs added to the setlist too, but I'm not so sure they'll do them without Mike. You never know though.

goodbye jared and coady, hello andy!
Hmmmm. I wonder how long the Melvins set will be?
I'll be in the city on the 15th, for the OAK vs SF game at AT&T.
I've haven't heard many good things about seeing the Jelvins live.
Perhaps I'll hold out for an entire true Melvins show. :-k
I think it might be a bit more trashy and thrashy.

Yeah, it's been posted, but it's good to have a thread especially about the fact MELVINS playing THE MANGLED DEMOS with MIKE DILLARD. This is co cool. Who could have hoped for this? I can't wait for a live recording.
What songs are you looking forward mostly? I really hope they will play Walter, I love that song. But also the fast stuff of course, a lot of stuff, no, all of that stuff is pure gold. GOLD!
I knew the info was flying around but this clarifies a bit more.
dates and links to ticket purchase.
to me mangled demos was a low end release. maybe not totally necessary other than for overbearing fanboy completists like myself.
I've listened to it once or twice at best so I couldn't soundly say I would want to hear this song or that song.
I wonder how much Jelvins material they'll do without kev being part of the mix anymore. also.. when they do play Jelvins material who exactly will be on bass?
another question... will coady and jared be involved in this show at all?
Coady and Jared of the Melvins are recording the new Big Business album in June, so the Jelvins bassist this round will be Andy Coronado (Wrangler Brutes, White Shit, Skull Kontrol)."

sometimes I just need somebody to hold my hand.
I was just about to ask if Dale was involved, but then I read that link and it turns out he's playing bass for the Mangled Demos set. This sounds pretty cool, I hope somebody tapes the show and puts it on youtube or something.
Idlehanz will be filming it if he will manage to make it to the show. I believe he's currently in the process of sorting out tickets, a place to stay, etc. (Yes, I'm watching you, buddy ;))

I'm with ya on that. I've probably only listened to my copy of Mangled Demos three or so times. It's decent, but it's nothing that I am going to listen to all the time. At least I've played it two more times than my copy of Colossus of Destiny

I really wanna hear 'Matt-Alec', 'I Don't Know' and especially 'Run Around'. That would be very damn cool.
About 'Matt-Alec', for some reason I refuse to call that song like that. I'm pretty sure it's called Bang My Head, and that Matt-Alec is a play on 'metallic' or even 'metallica', just to confuse some of their fans.
Anyone? Have they been referring to that song as Matt-Alec before the Mangled Demos were released on Ipecac?

All my accommodations are made, so yes, I will be filming, provided that they aren't filming it for themselves for some sort of future release.

Well it was on Salad of a Thousand Delights but it didn't have a name there as far as I know. I also called it 'Bang My Head' when I first heard it cause it's the most obvious name for it... then I got used to 'Matt-Alec' after the demos. Actually I don't believe in metallica references and such :P
Anyway it's a simple yet kick ass song that I would love to see live.

My brother might fly out from DC.
Every one from out of town should stay in the same hotel. Then We can party for three days straight.
If interested post here and I will look for a hotel with some reasonable rates.
Funny when I bought the tickets I thought it said "Green Room" extra. I was thinking hell yeah! and then I focused and saw it was "Green" for the environment.

Good news is that the TOOL web site is reporting that Adam Jones will be a part of the Jello/Melvins show. I think that's pretty cool. I respect him and love to see him play together with Buzzo.
Bad News. The fact that the TOOL web site reported the news and god forbid we get a the GAMH full of TOOL fans. ](*,)
