Hello
This is my first post here, so I hope it's ok that I'm using it as sort of a commercial...
I'm from Jerusalem, Israel, and as you might know the Melvins are coming here for the first time on the 27th of April.
For this event, we organized at the radio station I work in (Jerusalem University radio) a month of Melvins, consisting of various shows about and around the band. A day before the show in Tel Aviv, we'll air a 2 hour special that  includes a phone interview with Dale Crover.
All the details are specified in the attached flayer, feel free to mail me at: gleedamaker@hotmail.com
Bye for now :)

Very cool! Have fun at the show and good luck with this program!

Give us a reminder a day before the radio show or something.

Sounds great.  Any recordings you could get us would me much appreciated.

+1 to Jerusalem University radio!

Hey, thanks for the support!
I don't know if it's allowed here, but since I am giving links of a site that works with copyrights and gives royalties to the musicians that are featured on it, I hope it's not a problem to give these links (free download):

http://pod.icast.co.il/1ad71866-9050-427b-8e5d-283a2626b458.icast.mp3 - 1 hour of Melvins stuff, from all eras.

http://pod.icast.co.il/a3d7beb4-a3c4-4ee9-9e5a-0f6e01038e36.icast.mp3 - Also 1 hour of music, but this one is of stuff that influenced the Melvins etc.

Notice that the (very little) talk between songs is in Hebrew, but the 2 hour special that includes the Dale interview (on the 26th of April) will be in English of course.

Great Stuff.  Thanks for the information.
What kind of venue are they playing at- capacity-wise?
Are there pretty many fans by you?

This is cool to hear that the Melvins is playing in Israel. Are there many Melvins fans over there? Or is the knowledge about the band more like a discreetly leaked secret?

This also speaks well about the reach of this messageboard and website. It's cool to see people post here from many varied places.

Good morning
I shall definitely post a review about the show, that's an excellent idea.
There are many devoted Melvins fans in Israel, I guess some even frequent readers of this forum. I know of a few people that went especially to see them play live in Europe. Aside from those die-hard fans, which I can't estimate by number but can say that I know of at least 4, there are many people who really know and love the Melvins, but not at an obsession level such as those die-hard fans. I guess I belong to the ladder group.
So aside from those 2 groups, who I assume consist of no more than 250 people (not bad for a country of around 6 million, most of them religious and not aware of the true delights of the earth such as the Melvins) there are many metal/grunge enthusiasts who are hungry for good live shows, and of course you have those who will just go cause they heard it's cool and that it has something to do with Nirvana.
What I'm saying is, the Melvins are suppose to perform in front of a sold out venue consisting of 950 people hungry for live music. My guess is that they would have been able to perform in front of even 1500 people, but for some reason promoters insist on having shows at this pretty lame venue called the Barbey. Patton is performing there on the 9th of June with Fennesz and the show sold out within about 10 days.

I wouldn't say many but I discover new Israeli Melvinians every day now with the show only a week away.
