Melvins just were crap. sorry to say it, but these new songs suck cock and that double drumming is useless. besides this big bussiness guy has good vox andBB are a very good band, but I rather hear Buzz singing and Dale drumming.

it seems that with the 2 drummers, Dale is forced to a sort of 'tightness' that is not  t h a t  special anymore. it always been his STYLE of drumming that rules so much and with this line up (or maybe these songs?)  the style is gone.


Maarten mentioned the sound. well that was just a joke. You could see the guys pounding their instruments but than you hear some weak ass 10dB crash sound and a toyguitar noise. no I'm sorry to be so negative in my 1st post after 3 years (I'm guessing) being back on this forum, but I think the Melvins should quit all this collaborations and play for themselves... but hey, we all like the Melvins so much because they do what they want to do, so fuck me...





because there's talking about a groningen/Vera show...

wow... when I saw the Melvins there some years ago (they were with 4 people line up), now that was a lifechanging experience...

Ha Pit, good to have you here. And I'm going to respond a bit to your post anyway. I don't doubt the show you saw at the Vera was more crushing and powerful back then, but I try to experience the Melvins in their current context and development, rather then going back to the good ol' days where they were cranking out Eggnog and all that stuff. The new album is still amazing, but I have to switch my mind a little to fully enjoy the experience, although the tightness and rocking quality of those songs are stuck in my brain since I saw them playing in the Scala last year in London. Not even to mention the Lustmord experience. But yeah, anyway, I'm enjoying the dope and some cheap AH witbier as I should on a Saturday night, and I'll see you tomorrow.

well, I wasn't trying to compare anything to the Vera show from some years back, but I just referred to that place because the Vera got mentioned somewhere in this topic...
just wanted to make a different opinion about the show/recent stuff... but I also said: "we all like the Melvins so much because they do what they want to do, so fuck me..."
