TGH i was right in front of big business when they played... i was with the guy who had the annoying screams.

Do you have a beard and what not? If so, I remember you. I was standing right in front of Jared, and my friend was next to that beam.

indeed so... do you have long hair.

I'm seriously depressed I can't make the philly show tonight, this tour sounds amazing.  I'm seeing Boris tomorrow but honestly I'd rather be at the Melvins show right now  :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

This is slightly late, but it is here none the less.

First off, I got to Cleveland at about 6:15. I got a great parking spot right across from the venue. My copilot was hungry, so we decided to search for a place to eat. I saw Buzz and Toshi playing catch, and they were in the direction I had to walk anyway, so I talked to Buzz for a little. He said good luck finding any place that wasn't boarded up, and he was right. The only thing we could find was a Pizza place on the corner.

After a leisurely meal, we got in line around 7 - 7:30. We spent the next two hours trying to decide if 271 is a prime number or not (it is). We were within the first ten people in, and immediately hit the bar for a few drinks. Glen found me sometime before Big Business went on, and then we saw Dog Tired, so we said hey to him.

Big Business was great, and I thought Toshi did an excellent job on guitar. There wasn't much time in between Big Business and the Melvins. Loved the Melvins set. Especially the third verse on Dwight Fry.

After all was over, I hit merch table for the singles and poster. Then had a beer or two with Glen before the 3 hr ride home. I almost didn't go to the show because I have been sick with a cold for a couple weeks, but I am glad I did.

Glen, I was really glad to meet you, and glad you came. I bet that security guy is still looking for that doob. Also, glad to meet Dog Tired. I am sure we'll cross paths in the future.

I wouldn't say he looks like a film star. Unless he himself IS a film star.

OK so we start out with the movie. My take, looks like Jeannine Gerafalo downloaded a copy of flash, then decided to drop acid and have at it. While watching, I miraculously converted into a Dennis Kucinich voter. There were (I believe) some references to the oil industry and made sure to go outside after the gig to gaze upon the solar powered tour busses. (They weren't there!) Obviously this 'movie' was one of those things that Mike Patton had show up in his email and forced the melvins to show it at gunpoint. I also asked my friend if he was ready to return his t-shirt after viewing it.
maybe this was made by Jello Biafra who has plenty of time on his hands these days! (I know I know, this was done by 'Dalek')

onto music - Big biz started off as a 3 piece and i enjoyed the energy. Coady was amazing on the drums.  Look, I think Dale Crover is one of the best 3 or 4 drummers I've ever seen (and trust me on this, I've seen a lot) but his guitar was making a horrible wretched noise. My friend and I basically tried to save our hearing from the ear-drum damaging cacophony. As I desperately tried to force more tissue paper into my ear canal, I was reminded of the time I accidentally pierced my ear-drum with a q-tip. I still love Dale, though. Maybe it was just a horrible mix because I saw him do the same thing at the Grog last year I do not recall a similar reaction. Actually, it probably was the mix. I mentioned my displeasure over the sound with some 'hardcore's' from Michigan (O H I O!) one of them looked particularly annoyed with me and, given a different time and place, would have jumped me in a back ally.

OK - onto good things. The King showed up and I immediately thought 'Hooray' - a man who can actually play the guitar' and Dales sat over on the drum kit and I immediately thought. 'Hooray! Dale's sitting in the right place now.' The proceeded to pummel and dismantle every last standing or fixed object in the room. Buzz is the king of the big riff and is just a freakin metal chug machine - the dude was in the groove. I loved the tune 'the hawk' off of the new one, that's the one I was waiting for. Of course Dale is really a true abstract artist on drums - again probably me favorite ever. Nobody plays like Dale Crover. (Except that is, for Coady!) Jared was great, too. I was on one side and could not see him because the lame venue has huge freaking I beams blocking your view. (ATTN PEABODY's! MOVE!) Anyway, the Melvins definitely made sitting through that movie and some horrble sound probs worth the wait. Come back soon!!

p.s. Scored a sweet St Louis poster signed for 5 bucks! Awesome cheap art!
