do you think his tone sounds weak also during live shows?that's strange considering he's still using the same gear over all these years.new guitar is the only thing that came to my mind,different pedals maybe (no rat)

Have you actually seen them live lately? His tone is unreal.. it cut's through the room like a knife. So... NO! His guitar tone is not weak. But "Suspended Animation" is a fantastic album.

No, he's right. The guitar tone on ASA and NWB (the former, especially) are the sonic equivalent of an 18th century fop.
